Chicago femcee Trinity impressed me with this 12 track free album which features a few other fellow Chicago emcees. Trinity and her crew are no doubt reppin’ Chi-Town to the max. "GoWhereHipHop | Trinity ‘The Valley’ [MIXTAPE]"

No doubt you have seen the premieres from Trinity here on GWHH during the past few weeks and it was all leading up to the release of the full mixtape, The Valley! We’re proud to co-present the project, which is easily Trinity’s most personal to date. She takes us through the journey of her personal experiences and career from one track to the next. And as Trinity adds, “The Valley is a term used to describe a low point but in actuality represents a place of personal growth”. I appreciate how more and more artists are understanding the power of having a fluid, connecting theme and/or sound across their entire project. Trinity is successful of the preceding statement with the well-flowing, old-school feeling Valley, which also boasts complimenting features from spoken word artist Jasminum Mcmullen, hip hop artist Neak, and soul singer Nida Nasheeda (with engineering from Mulatto Patriot). Outside of the previously released tracks from The Valley, watch out for a couple more of my favorites in “Thinkers Box” and “Relief”. “Hope” is still my early favorite of the 9-track project but from beginning to end, The Valley comes correct on an appreciation level with all of the tracks. One last note: it’s Trinity’s birthday today so what better gift to give to her than listening and downloading The Valley above! Enjoy!

Bio

Trinity is patiently waiting for the era of clever, creative and lyrical MC’s to make its way back into Hip Hop’s cultural spotlight. Hailing from a city on the brink of an innovative Hip Hop movement, Chicago is known for MC’s of varying personas and styles. In essence, no two Chi MC’s are alike and Trinity continues that trend (or lack thereof). As an artist, Trinity describes herself as “the around the way, girl next door.” Her character is a unique median of street savvy and text book intellect. She uses her lyrics to draw listeners into the reality, hardship, and excitement of everyday living.

Trinity’s musical objective is to introduce the Hip Hop world to a brand new breed of female MC. Trinity separates herself from her counterparts through her energetic live performances and creative lyricism. Her approach to spreading her music is simply that of an indie artist. You can find Trinity’s artistry in many forms. You will find her in freestyle cypher videos online, featuring her music on Hip Hop blogs throughout the country and collaborating on tracks with other Chi artists. Artistically her focus is always to create complete albums that give listeners a one of a kind vibe.

Her most notable accomplishments to date have been via her album ‘The City is Ours.’ The video for her track ‘Odds & Evens’ has been her most well received work thus far. The video gives you that classic hip hop vibe musically with a creative visual to match. Odds & Evens, the video, was shot in Chicago’s legendary Millennium Park. Trinity previously released her mixtape ‘Days of My Life’ presented by YNotMyDream.net. The mixtape is Trinity’s reflection on the excitement as well as the trials and tribulations of being a music artist. The mixtape creatively borrows from the legendary soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ and uses that shows theme music for the mixtapes intro.

In order for her music to touch as many fans as possible, Trinity puts her energy into spreading herself thin among various media outlets. Trinity was featured in a March 2011 edition of the Chicago Red Eye Newspaper courtesy of writer Kyra Kyles track off competition. In addition, Trinity has made interview appearances and has music in rotation on several Chicago radio stations including, WBMZ, WHPK, The Real Midwest Radio, Vocalo Radio, Windy City Underground, and Snonline. Furthermore, Trinity has had her music reviewed and posted to several Hip Hop blog sites, including: KevinNottingham.com, Stashonlinemagazine.com, gowherehiphop.com, NotQuiteMillionaires.com, IllHype.com and many more. The Mc has also been featured unsigned artist in Hip Hop Weekly Magazine’s “Unsigned Artist Spotlight.”

Additionally, the rapper has and continues to hit the stage of numerous local Hip Hop spots in her hometown including: Subterranean, Dark Room, Adriannas, The Bassment, US Beer Co., Café Lura, Exodus, Corner Café, Abbey Pub, Murphy’s Pub and NIU Rip the Runway: Fashion and Music Expo.
