CHICOS KUMBIA

The concept of creating Chicos de la kumbia was initially started in 2009. For the next 2 years while working with other local bands, the idea of forming another Kumbia band was brewing in the mind of its founder and with the help of Willie Martinez this project took shape in 2011. This idea was to put together a band utilizing its young talent " The Next Generation" to follow in the footsteps of their family members and to continue with this tradition.

Chicos de la kumbia launched their music journey on March of 2011. On May 22, Chicos de la Kumbia made their 1st stage appearance at a local Festival In Madison Wisconsin gaining respect from local Bands and popularity from their current fan base. Within two weeks of their 1st performance, Chicos de la Kumbia had over 850 hits on You Tube for their video “Te Quiero A Ti” and hundreds of supporting comments on Facebook.

Chicos de la kumbia released their 1st single “La Curita and Yo No Se Mañana on June 30th, with the collaboration of Willie Martinez owner of Kali Music Studio in Madison WI.

Chicos de la Kumbia is musically influenced by its Mexican, Colombian roots and by today's high caliber Cumbia Bands, such as as Kumbia Kings, Super Reyes, DJ Kane, K1, Chicos de Barrio, Los Capis and many more.

Chicos de la Kumbia has many short and long terms goals for 2011 and they know that with the support of their fans, this Kumbia band will work very hard to succeed.
