"Repertoire of Renato Teixeira son CD explains sources and influences"

What draws the most attention on the album "Mais Que um Viajante", from Chico Teixeira, is the kind of bucolic sound, accompanied by guitar, viola and accordion, performed sensitively and competently. Also the fact the imaginary already know the themes of these songs, just the universe and the guitars and violas of aces like Almir Sater and Renato Teixeira, paves the way for the acceptance of this release that is targeted to a very specific segment: it is not for that idiotic public that likes the "music" said sertaneja, a marketing scam, but for a segment on the roots and staining medium hippie. In this mattern, beyond her own compositions, from whom the very things Almir and Renato, Chico included an emotional version of "Father and Son" (1970), the English Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), a dialogue between father and son (Renato, father involved) who wants to leave in search of their own destiny, and it works as a metaphor for living Chico: being musician of his fathers band, now is working in a solo flight.

Bio

Born and raised in São Paulo, singer and composer Chico Teixeira, represents today the new generation of the Brazilian Folk music . Since his early ages, always lived on the countryside, where he gets the inspiration for his work, bringing up feelings that were forgotten amid this atmosphere saturated which is the current scenario of Brazilian culture and art.

The Chico drank from the fountain of Folk and today can be considered one of the best references of this current pace in the country, with Geraldo Roca and Almir Sater marked as influences. He grew up listening closely and Pena Branca Xavantinho and was present at the creation of great music on the Brazilian music scene, being son of the composer Renato Teixeira, from which inherits the simplicity and naturalness of sound. He is part of his fathers band for nine years, still follows the road focusing increasingly on his journey.

The CD "Mais que um Viajante" has the mission to cross the country, taking with them the renewal of Folk music culture, now more enlightened, yet little explored. Chico recorded "O Contador De Causo", theme song of the novel "Paraiso" (Globo TV), and have already received indication "Regional Best Singer" on the "23 º Brazilian Music Award". "Mais que um Viajante" is a great tribute to new Brazilian music quality. Has identity and stand out with joy and seriousness, for those who seek through art, arguments to try to understand life.
