"Michael Franti & Spearhead / Dj Boima / Blue King Brown"

The Tivoli Sunday Sep 24

A blockbuster was anticipated from the moment I found the end of the queue; the sold-out crowd lining Costin St to see Australia’s favourite American Michael Franti and his band Spearhead. Playing to more people waiting on street than inside, DJ Boima warmed the stage for Melbourne’s Blue King Brown, whose primal set of afro- beats triggered a number of sublime festival flashbacks in me. On his return, DJ Boima cut a block-rocking mix as diverse as The Beachboys, Gnarls Barkley, Australian Crawl and A Tribe Called Quest, and helped to continue Blue King Brown’s ecstatic momentum. - Rave Magazine

"Cumbia on A Sunday"

Sunday mixes have almost started to be a tradition here at Discobelle. This time we got a cumbia mix from Cheif Boima and Chango Julius. They are a DJ (Boima) and MC (Chango) who perform out of the Bay Area California. This mix got the old and the new mixed together. It’ll make your tired Sunday feet’s to move from side to side - Discobelle.net
