Chike Rebel is the founder of Say Sumthin Productions. Born in Quebec, now residing just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Chike Rebel is creating quite the street buzz in his surroundings.
A hip hop and R&B producer/artist given the name Chike; which means “power of God” in the Igbo dialect, this Nigerian Canadian plans to take the Canadian world of hip hop and R&B to a higher level. “ I feel it’s time us Canadians start making the music that of course we want to hear, but we’ve got to be more creative when it comes to our own production and collaborate more often. We’ve got to support each other because we do have the talent! We aren’t just talking ‘bout hockey either. We go through the same struggles on this side of the border.”
By songwriting, producing beats, producing records and even getting involved in the engineering, this amateur producer/artist has managed to create his own style and sound, which he feels is key to standing out amongst the rest of the Indie labels.
Rebels’ main objective at this point is to establish great relationships with Djs, radio personalities, bookies/promoters who will play his songs on the radio, in the clubs and seek and promote future shows and openings.
While Back in the studio, Chike Rebel provides Artist Development for an upcoming unsigned rap artist and future star. He welcomes any artists with talent who are looking for production, songs written or development.
