"Chill Out with Chil Wil"

“Lansing, Michigan isn’t known for a lot on the surface but it has a great music scene and Chil Wil is a part of it. “Can’t Tell Me Nothin” really keeps your attention due to the female parts disbursed without. As for Chil Wil, his rhymes are very serious and set that tone overall for the song. That serious side of him continues on to “Exhibit A,” while “Hunger” has a beat that allows for a little wiggle room as far as what it’ll make listeners to – move. Things get real with “Pain” as the reality of life shines in the lyrics. Then as we head towards the end of one and into another, here’s “Dear Summer.” It’s a great slow song that has a great throwback sound intertwined. So if you like your hip hop leaning more towards the serious side of life – check out Chil Wil ASAP. (http://www.reverbnation.com/chilwil85)”

"Chil Wil The Panther EP Review"

A number of the rappers that are currently looking to break it big glom onto established rap flows for their claim to fame. Chil Wil is an artist that comes forth with a distinctive style of rap that will tattoo itself into the minds and hearts of listeners. The production of this EP makes each of the five cuts ready for rap rotation; the album’s initial track Stridin straddles the line between gritty street anthem and smart flow. The epic beat that starts out He Hate Me is built upon by Chil Wil’s deft rapping skills; instrumental and vocal combine to create something substantive and effecting. Chil Wil’s style here touches upon 50 Cent while keeping the absolute harmony of his flow high. The lyrics are crisp and clear, pushing the composition to an entirely new plateau.
The Bad Guy (featuring Young Mall$) is a more laid-back cut; the track is the perfect cruising music. A seventies-infused backdrop and up-front vocals give The Bad Guy ample replay potential. Smart use of silence allows for the track to hit harder than efforts that assault ears from beginning to end.

Sweetest Thing keeps the tempo light and slower, showcasing Chil Wil’s ability to work in the R&B genre. The ability to stand tall and keep his persona constant through each of the cuts on The Panther EP keeps the momentum high for the last track, Stoned Walls. Stoned Walls has Chil Wil build off of Kanye’s Can’t Tell Me Nothing beat to establish something wholly different, new, and something that any fan of rap should ultimately seek to search out.

Make sure to keep an eye out for Chil Wil’s full-length album, which will be out later this year.
