Chilldren are a lot more than just one clever and catchy-as-hell hook, though — their self-aware “dickcore” hip-hop is some of the freshest and most original right now. The multi-gender, multi-racial trio has tapped into an outstanding songwriting sensibility, employing super local New Orleans references (Tchoupitoulas Wal-Mart ass shaking, making fun of bitches for hanging out at The Boot), topical and comically untopical culture (Waka Flocka Flame to Frasier), and a remarkable dynamic that blurs the line between emcee, comedian, and badass.
