Attila Hegedus Biog
The music bug bit hard at the age of 16.
Unable to play the guitar very well I started writing my own songs around my musical abilities.
I like to think with time and effort my musicianship improved as did my song writing.
The early years were spent in various original and cover bands but as time progressed I still wasnt very good at covers, I believe due to me developing my own style.
In 1991 I released my first album entitled Beyond(10 tracks) as singer/songwriter and front-man with Melbourne underground band Shadow of Doubt: We worked hard and had a distribution deal with Melbourne based company Musicland.
In 1993 I formed alternative rock band Augury, once again as singer/songwriter and front-man. We released two albums, Moment of Grace 1994(13 tracks) and Bending, Twisting, Turning1996(12 tracks) distributed by Mushroom records in Melbourne. Both albums received rave reviews by street press and punters alike. Once again we worked really hard touring and writing with enough material for our third album.
The band parted in 1996 and I decided to go solo.
Playing acoustic gigs and collaborating with other musicians seemed more productive than being in a band situation. There were less restrictions and more creative flexibility.
In 2003 I manifested Chimera with the view of writing and recording my first solo album and getting it distributed worldwide.
This seems to be happening as we speak for in late 2007 I signed a deal with U.K record label Lakeland records.
March 2008 saw the release of The Window(10 track album) under my alter ego of
Chimera
with a bonus double A side single designed to preview work from my the next album (which is already written). All going well Id like to do some solo promo touring to promote the album followed by a full band sometime in 2009.
