Bio

Chitty Chitty Bang Gang can be described as a mix of indiepop, electronica
and white boy rap with deep roots in the early 90's lofi scene, always with a naive melody hidden in the mix. The programmed beats are enhanced with innovative drumming by Lasse Baklien (Lukestar / Bellman), pumping basslines by Mads Baklien (Call:Vega, Lukestar), indiequeen Ingrid Smedstads soulful voice and synthesizers, Anna Björnerhags enchanting tambourine and Micro Korg, and Robert Hörnfeldts big lofi heart shining through crooked guitar melodies and aching lyrics.

The band released their debut album “Kids Love the Untz Untz” in 2011 followed by a lot of live gigs around Norway and all the major clubs in Oslo (such as Blå, John Dee, Mono, Garage, Camp Indie at Rockefeller a.s.o) as well as playing the kick-off club nights at the Øya festival and By:larm. The single “One push from the edge” got heavy rotation on the national radio station NRK P3 and Rebecca Schiller of NME said this about the album: “CCBG claims on their MySpace that they will make you “Move your feet and dance to the beat”, “Do the snake and stay awake” and “Do the jive and feel alive!” They keep their promises – each track is a ball of indie-electro energy.”

Their second album is now in the making, and will be finished in the very near future. It will be bursting with even more catchy melodies, driving beats and addictive hooks.
