Chive is a alternative, indie, experimental rock band from the suburbs of Chicago often compared to Current Joys, Elvis Depressedly, and (Sandy) Alex G. Spencer Schmid and Matthew Adams started making music together in 2016 with their lo-fi debut record Hawaii. Later in the same year they added Mathew Ackman (drums) to record an LP, their sophomore release Winnie and Rue. The band’s well-crafted releases and energetic live shows allowed them to start playing with the Kenosha collective “Public Garden." In 2017 Chive returned to the studio, with Jonnycatland's Landon Keroauc filling in on bass, and began to record their latest full-length release Sunshine Kid. After recording the LP lineup changes occurred, introducing Benjamin Cvijovic (bass) and Connor Mizell (drums) while the band further developed their signature sound. Raw youth radiates from Sunshine Kid single ‘Dig Me Out’ capturing your attention as the group continues to progress. Chive is currently in the process of playing shows around Chicago, steadily growing their fan base.
