Chloe Day

Trip-Hop artist Chloe Day is topping the MySpace charts with her latest album "Pixie Runway", which has garnered strong listener response on Alternative Specialty radio on stations including KDLD Los Angeles, KPNT St. Louis, KUPD Phoenix, KROX Austin, KATT Oklahoma City & KTEG Albuquerque.

“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang . . . Chloe Day's music resonates like a siren call. Her agonizing sound submerges listeners into a dream-like state with its seductive, yet dangerous feel . . . edgy, breathy, flirty, eerie, and eccentric."

-Arizona Daily Sun

Chloe Day is a woman obsessed.

Not a day goes by without her being distracted by melody. It might have bit her at a friend's house, maybe in the car or skating through the alleys of her neighborhood in Venice Beach, CA.

She probably won't notice when the notes swim into patterns and words sort of fall into place.

"I can't remember when I didn't have a song stuck in my head," she says.

Chloe grew up exploring the radio dial from end to end to find new music.

Soon after she moved from her home town of St. Louis to L.A., she went on a 3-month hitchhike through Mexico, where she eventually stepped into a Tijuana roadside shop and bumbled her way through broken Spanglish to her first guitar.

Songwriting and performing became instant addictions and went from open mics in Santa Monica to gigs around Hollywood, and in time to ranking among the Top Artists on MySpace in both Trip-Hop and Electronica.

“With a little girl croon that sounds half-seductive, half-lethal, Chloe Day leaves her audience curious as to whether she plans to kiss them or kill them. And yet, her performances are so hypnotizing, listeners would probably consent, spiral-eyed, to either.” - Riverfront Times

It was at Hollywood hotspot Molly Malone's that Chloe crossed paths with producer Meghan Gohil and began work on her debut release, The Return Of...

“The album vibrates with the trashy percussive grooves of hip-hop and the creepy, tensile ambience of electronica... her songs have edginess in spades.” -Roy Kasten (KDHX/RFT St. Louis)

Her sophomore release, Pixie Runway, followed less than a year later and led to regional touring around the States.

"The term 'pixie' in the title is no accident; Day has this awesome voice that is sexy, sweet, and just a little predatory." -Playback:STL

Both albums have met with critical acclaim and been catching the attention of radio tastemakers around the States, with strong listener responses on Modern Rock stations such as KUPD (Phoenix AZ), KPNT (St. Louis MO), and KATT (Oklahoma City OK).

Be sure to keep an ear out for The Return Of...'s opening track "Kingpin" in Eric Byler's latest film "Americanese," winner of several SXSW 2006 awards.

Baby’s got a lot of catchin’ up to do
and there’s not much work around here
Whoever said crime never paid
done played the wheel too long son
He’s gonna be a victim

Daddy’s got a bounty on his head again
and there’s nowhere left to run
So many roles to fill his soles
They all lead back to you son
You’re coming into big time

The cellar’s filling up with too much decadence
The garden in the back has turned to rot
Baby’s got a lot of catchin’ up to do
and your soul has yet been lost

Someone has to bring our house to life again
‘cuz the battle for these streets will never end
Baby’s got a lot of catchin’ up to do
to rein this town back in

Could we…should we catch the next train outa here
Would we make it on the road
Where do the days go
where do the days go
wrapped up in a retroworld
Where do the days go
where do the days go
Who wouldn’t wanna fall

With you with me
Caught between the ages of the beatles and the deftones
With you with me
Caught between the ages of the beatles and the deftones

Won’t you…tell me why everybody’s talkin’ ‘bout the latest in the punk scene
We should sound more like the shins
And I tell them I wouldn’t know them
I wouldn’t know them
Mainstream music has long escaped me
Couldn’t we show them
couldn’t we show them
Who wouldn’t wanna fall…

With you with me
Caught between the ages of the beatles and the deftones
With you with me
Caught between the ages of the beatles and the deftones
With you with me
who wouldn’t wanna fall…
With you with me

I’ve been digging through the shadows of my mind
You’ve been dominating every stretch I find
And when the lights go down and it’s just me myself my images
I reel to feel a flicker of desire
You’ve got work to do to satisfy this fire

Cuz I dreamt you gotta have you
Little sentimental thoughts invade my mind
Yeah I felt you now I know you
Would declare without a pause that you are mine

See the time we dined with eyes on every side
Feel electric vibes that built throughout the night
And when I made that little slip it wasn’t just an empty quip
That you and I might like to share a spoon
I’ve got news for you it’s time we changed our tune

Cuz the way you meet my gazes oh it brings my spine to chills
And I must admit I’m not equipped to turn away these thrills
You’ve got work to do to satisfy this fire
To satisfy this fire
