"We're going through the same recovery as the city, "Choo", vocalist, drummer and 30-year music veteran says in an interview in the French Quarter. Choo was among the hundreds of musicians who were scattered by the winds and floods of the storm, losing their instruments along the way. "If it wasn't for kindness of friends, I'd be up the creek. It's really been an ordeal." Still, the French Quarter, the city's oldest neighborhood, has all but returned to normal. The Mardi Gras tradition held fast, albeit scaled-down and plans are already on stream for the French Quarter Festival and Jazz Fest. "New Orleans is coming back. It's too much of an entity in the United States for it to be over," Choo says. - Louisiana Weekly
