"Chop-Z Spits Venom On His New EP "Free Formed""

Let me introduce the talent of Chop-Z . Born and raised in Canada (real name Teylon McGann) This 25 year old emcee know on too well about the decay, frustration, and fight for survival of life on the streets.

Son of a drug dealing mother he battled to grow up the hard way and make something of himself. He found solace in Hip hop which he obsessed about from a young age and later He discovered a talent for emceeing which he decided to nurture to get away from the hustling and dealing and killingas he saw around him on a daily basis. His older cousin Vado who is in the music industry as an artist signed under DJ Khaled, just told him to stay "humble & hungry" which he took to heart and be decided to focus 100% on building a successful career in music and never looked back.

Free Formed is a tremendous piece of work. The pain and emotion of his difficult upbringing can be heard clear as crystal in his accomplished delivery. His key messages in his lyrics titles such as ‘Free formers’, ‘Soundbwoy Killing’, Goosebumps’ , ‘Miss Bedroom Eyes’, ‘Building’ and ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ showcase the ability of an artist who has a wide range of diverse skills and can sets moods in his songs accordingly.

The video for ‘Cry for the Youths’ (see video below), was filmed in Jamaica and is a Ghetto Lament. A song about how the hopes, aspirations and innocence in a young child’s eyes can disappear when then grow in an unproductive negative environment and how this situation is all unacceptable on our planet in 2016.

His influence such power house artists as Nas, DMX, Big L, Tupac, Garnet Silk. As a youth he was schooled in the art Reggae. His Uncle had a Sound system which blasted nothing but hard music, night and day. Chop-z used to rap on over some of the songs from when he was as young as three years old.

Free Formed’ is an E.P containing 8 brand new releases.
We think this Emcee has definitely got the skills that pay the bills. Peep the links below to find out for yourselves... - Hip Hop On Deck

"ThisIsCream.Com Interview"

Who is your grandfather?

My Grandfather was a man who I always heard great things about but never knew because he died in prison

What defines your genre?

What defines hip hop in one word would have to be the free-styling. Mixing it with R&B and different blends brings in the harmony & melody which is so vital in music. Without melody music is just a bunch of words or sounds.

How long have you been working at your craft and why?

Well I been writing since I was nine years old & started recording at 13. I used to listen to the Radio & write out the lyrics for every song that came on. Project bounce 89.5 used to be my favourite radio station. Hip Hop was an escape from all the negativity going on around me at a young age. What attracted me even more was the street, cause of the things I was seeing, the things the rappers were rapping about. Also my older brothers used to laugh at me & say I couldn’t spit so that made me wanna go in even more. Now I write for them.

What do you have currently going on?

My current singles are Feel it ft Egypt, Cry For The Youths & The United States Of Africa. Each one represents their own message. Cry for the Youths has a video out right now which was shot in Kingston Jamaica about how underprivileged youths are living & feeling. It’s a song that was meant to show the contrasts between them & the higher class people in society.

Tell us something most don’t know about you.

Something many people don’t know is that I’m very athletic. I feel that when your lungs are in check your music & performances will be at the top peak.

What is the biggest obstacle in your career right now?

The way black youths are treated and misrepresented in the media is one thing. We are very complex, not everyone is the same, that’s why there’s individualism. I’m speaking about issues affecting us everyday & bringing out the truth which will open many more doors. Unfortunately we weren’t born with a silver spoon in our mouths. To whom much is given much is expected so I’m preparing for my real work.Within the industry I don’t see anything holding me back cause the only obstacles are the ones I create.

What can we expect from you in the near future?

For 2015 we got many things in the process such as the release of my new single Bathing Suit. Also I’ll be on Afrofest 2015 so come out to one of the livest events in Toronto.

Bio

From the "Flemo To Parma" To "Crying For The Youths" How Did It All
Happen? This Explains The Story Of Chop-z From Toronto, Canada. If someone was to take Chicago drill, Atlanta trap, New York hip hop, & the exploding U.K Grime music, & shake it up in a bottle they would get Chop-z.

His older cousin Vado who is in the music industry as an artist signed under DJ Khaled, just told him to stay "humble & hungry" which he took to heart.

To date he has released three mixtapes. His single "Cry for the Youths" was quickly picked up by many worldwide when it was released in August 2014. This time around Chop-z is set to release his new & first EP in the new year on February 15th 2016 entitled "FreeFormed" with the first single entitled "Wheel Of Fortune".
