"Choszen: Welcome to the Greene Party"

Welcome to the Greene Party is something refreshing and different to add to your CD collection. Determined to stand apart from the popular sounds of today, Choszen (known to many as Bobby Ray Williams) gives listeners a broader view and glimpse of the political world. Welcome to the Greene Party provides substance and broader views of everyday politics that people always face but are unaware of. Choszen carefully creates the metaphor and eliminates the fine line that separates real life from politics. He creatively crafted them together to bring listeners something new and stimulating.

Each track contains a rather unique sound and delivers an effective message. The album revolves around money, parties and politics. The album contains song titles that spark a correlation with the political world such as, "Something Like A Politician", "Greene Party Politics", “It’s What You Say”, and "My Running Mate". "Jack Crown & Bob Uppindown (skit) / My Running Mate" is a rather heighten track that pauses in between a set of skits and verses that distinguishes Choszen from his money-talking alter-ego, D’Note-Taka (pronounced The Note-Taker), in which he introduces as his “running mate” in the opening of the album.

"Something Like A Politician" sets the tone for the album reminding people of how important this year’s election is and tells America it’s time to vote. A skit entitled "Hey Bob" which sets the tone for the song "It's What You Say", pokes fun at the man behind Choszen and questions how can a Boy Scout be a rapper? Jack goes on to imply that this man doesn’t fit the stereotype of a rapper by saying that while he’s out earning badges, some of today’s rappers are out taking bullets.

The obvious party joints on the album are "Sixth Street", "Throwing Georges In The Sky", "So Much Paper" and "Balling Like I'm 23". "Sixth Street" has to be the most elevated track on the album. It sounds fun, pays homage to the club spot that Austin, Texas is known for, and would definitely hype up any party anywhere. "Throwing Georges In The Sky" is a celebration of President George W. Bush vacating office on January 20, 2009. The throwing of one dollar bills (or Georges if you will) is the analogy that America ready to throw George (or President Bush) out, and start a new chapter with the 44th President of the United States, after failing in his role as President. "Good Times & Hard Times" is a rather encouraging song, has a nice flow to it and a strong message. Choszen speaks potent and makes the song personal with every bar with lines such as, “Niece and nephew they be smiling all the time, even though they daddy’s not around…”

The album all together is an A for admirable and is worth owning. There are many aspiring rappers, but not many of them take their time to put something admirable and worthy together. It is an entirely different sound and definitely entirely different lyrics. Lyrically for sure the album is pretty cool. Welcome to the Greene Party will be available November 1.

Bio

Determined that he would be different from the popular culture or thoughts of the artist of his time, up-and-coming hip-hop artist Choszen has prepared to present himself as a worthy third party candidate during his historic presidential campaign with his debut album, Welcome to the Greene Party.

Choszen would give his listeners substance, challenge their thinking and expose them to the parallels between real life and everyday politics. With his life always surrounded by money, parties and politics, having earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science with a minor in communication studies partnered with his real life experiences, he was determined to incorporate political terminology, nonpartisan views and ideology in showing people how life looked through his eyes. “My goal in recording the album was to give my listeners some “fun political hip-hop party music with substance” without any particular type of partisan politics. Welcome to the Greene Party is just that.”
