Bio
In an effort to find the right backing band, singer-songwriter Brittany Shoup stumbled upon Sean McKee and Calvin Grad. They performed as Brittany Shoup and the Man Landers (or Shadow Hog, or BS and the Creepy Uncles...) for a few months, and are now making the permanent identity change over to Chowderkeg.
Shoup's songwriting is influenced by folk, punk, ska and alternative rock. She has been writing music since age twelve and has been actively performing since 2005. She released her first demo, "Load of BS", in 2005, and her first acoustic album, "Locust of Control", in 2008.
Brittany Shoup & the Man Landers blew the socks off folks at gigs, providing just the right variety of rhythms, tempos, styles and dynamics. Now, the guys and gal are rocking as Chowderkeg and upping the intensity about 50%.
Chowderkeg is in the midst of producing their first self-released album, which is due to be released in September. All three of the band members attend SUNY Oneonta and are active members of the student radio station, WONY 90.9 FM.
