Bio

HI I'M CHRISTOPHER DONOYAN

I am a FULL BAND with drums, percussion and a three-piece horn section

My new album Ghosts debuted May 6, 2016 exclusively on my website. It is entirely composed, recorded, produced, and mastered by me. Featuring the songs "This One's For The Dreamers," "Photosynthesize," "Ghosts..." and more, the album fuses many sub-genres of modern R&B including progressive funk, future-soul, hip-hop, trap, drum n bass, and groove.

Christopher was absolutely floored by a chance encounter with Miles Davis' Kind of Blue in the 8th grade. The majesty of the soloing, the interaction between the band members, and the warm, lush harmonies used to anchor the grooves were unlike anything he had ever heard before. In that moment Christopher knew music was his life's calling.

Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Christopher graduated Cum Laude from Providence College in 2011 with his BS in Biology. He graduated Berklee College of Music Summa Cum Laude in 2015 with his Professional Diploma in Jazz Composition and Guitar Performance. There he studied with guitar masters David Fiuczynski and Mick Goodrick. They drove Christopher to find his own voice on the guitar, helped him to impart a new and fresh jazz vocabulary to his sound, and taught him invaluable life lessons he uses regularly when penning his own funk and R&B songs.

Thank you for listening!
