"Great New Band!"

“A more than noteworthy local band is our new feature for a Band on the Rise. Sanchez is based out Charlotte and highlights and blends the sounds of blues, reggae, and folk. They perform and travel rigorously in the southeast, distinguishing their sound and filling venues. Sanchez has made appearances at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and recently at the Coca Cola 600 Speed Street Music Festival. They have also performed with acts such as Sister Hazel, Ted Nugent, an REO Speedwagon. Singer/songwriter and main vocalist Chris Sanchez brings a powerful resume’ to the table contributing to the sound Sanchez’s fans love. Originally from Texas, Chris has spent time performing around the country before choosing Charlotte as home to share his talent. He also spent a considerable amount of time in the Cayman Islands learning and perfecting his art. Sanchez is absolutely a band worth going and seeing live, and they’re not hard to find here in Charl”

"Painting Pictures"

““This raw, catchy country flavored song features a simple but tight guitar propelled rhythm section, with some down home electric guitar lines peppered throughout that add a lot of color and interest to the piece. The vocals here are delivered in a way reminding me of John Prine, which totally works for this song. A well written tune, lyrically and musically, its not a brand new idea but it is an amusing and thoughtful twist on the tried and true. This tune feels familiar on the first play and this is a good and marketable thing.””

Chris Sanchez is an island roaming, guitar slinging storyteller from Texas that has taken root in the Carolinas.

The Chris Sanchez brand of music is a fusion of Blues, Folk/Rock and Alt. Country that connects to people and excites audiences through songs that are fun, eclectic and relatable. Chris' recordings are currently being played on several internet radio stations, 106.5 The End - Charlotte - and world wide on SiriusXM radio.

Chris' passion for exploring and adventure come through in every performance and are heard in every song. The characters come from very real places. Chris has made it his business to see as much as possible and to experience all that life has to offer. From his days as an off-shore fisherman to a certifiable vagabond, Chris has traveled from coast to coast and over oceans wide to gather the stories that are now the songs heard at every show. Chris has found a musical home and a host of top notch musicians in the Carolinas. Helping with the heavy lifting at shows is a jumping rhythm section, tasty guitar and a sultry saxophone.

Chris brings the songwriting, guitar and vocals to the table with sincerity, skill, and honesty. An accomplished blues player and balladeer, Chris brings you the soul with electric and slide guitar along with warm and groovy tones from his Martin night after night. Sanchez has found an ever evolving sound that borrows from every corner of the musical spectrum to create something exciting and new yet warm and familiar.

The Sanchez sound began to form while Chris "cut his teeth" playing Blues, Rock, and Indie/Alt. Country in West Texas then later in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin, the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas in venues large and small. Chris later spent three years in the Cayman Islands, soaking up stories, rhymes, and rhythm that profoundly impacted his songwriting and style. Chris' genre bending style further developed while traveling and performing from New York to Florida, Havana, Cuba to California and finally home to the Carolinas.

The Chris Sanchez Band has shared the stage with numerous national acts such as Sister Hazel, Chelsea Bain, Ted Nugent, Styx, Survivor and REO Speedwagon and has performed at venues such as Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (Charlotte, NC), the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 Speed Street Music Festival, The Double Door Inn, the National Whitewater Center, Amos' Southend, the Visulite Theater as well as numerous festivals, concerts and clubs.

A large and loyal following has gathered and exciting things have been happening for the folk rocker with a bluesy vibe. Along with airplay on national radio at 106.5 "The End" and SiriusXM, the Chris Sanchez Band has been nominated for "Rock Band of the Year" (2012) as well as "Best Folk Artist" (2012) by the Charlotte Music Awards society and has been doing shows to packed houses in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas including but not limited to Raleigh, NC, Durham, NC, Greenville, SC, Charleston, SC, Isle of Palms, and Hilton Head Island.

"Hold tight and hang loose" - Sanchez is looking forward to seeing you and your friends at a show and to playing in your town!
