Chris and Kayla is an acquirable sounding Modern Folk group that appeals to both a younger and older audiences which has only been around for a few months. The band started when Chris and Kayla thought it would be nice to write a song for one of their friends who had a baby on the way. To their surprise, they really played well together. Over the next few months they kept playing at random events until one day in the November of 2007 they decided to make it an official band and officially start playing together. After about 3 months of gigging they decided they needed a band to open up more gig opportunities. The two new additions to the band, Austin Howard and Nick Taubitz added a whole new spectrum of sound for the group. This band is very unique for several reasons, one being thatl 4 members are classically trained and study Music Theory regularly. Basically they know what they're doing and can mold easily to new styles, a talent of which they don't hesitate to show off. Chris and Kayla are a group quickly growing in popularity you don't want to pass up on!
