Nothing Good About Goodbye

Written By: Chris Bates

How did I lose you?
When did it start?
Where did we go once we drifted apart?
I've run out of reasons
I'll never know why
I just can't find nothin' good about goodbye

No one to turn to
No one to blame
None of your sorrys can soften the pain
It's all I can handle
These tears never dry
I just can't find nothin' good about goodbye

I can't find nothin' good about goodbye
Though it looks like I could laugh it off
Every day I die
Let's give what we've got one more good try
'Cause I can't find nothin' good about goodbye

All I could hope for
All that I own
Ain't worth a damn if I'm livin' alone
Let's pick up the pieces
Let’s pocket our pride
'Cause I can't find nothin' good about goodbye

I can't find nothin' good about goodbye
Though it looks like I could laugh it off
Every day I die
Let's give what we've got one more good try
'Cause I can't find nothin' good about goodbye

Someday

Written By: Chris Bates

I’ll make it through losin’ you
It feels as if I’m almost out of tears
I'll be okay day by day
I'll find the strength I need to face my fears
My friends all tell me it wasn't meant to be
I wonder who was meant for me
They say I'll know when the right one comes along
I'll love again but I know until then
I've just got to carry on

I know that someday I'll find
The one in my mind
One who won't run away
I'm sure my someone can't be
Too far from me
I'll live to see my someday

No use to cry or ask why
Another good beginning had to end
Seems like my fate; I was late
To see I’d soon be on my own again
I won’t go makin’ the same mistake again
I wish I never made it then
That's past me now and they say I'm lookin’ strong
I last the day but then each night I pray
I won’t have to wait too long

I know that someday I'll find
The one in my mind
One who won't run away
I'm sure my someone can't be
Too far from me
I'll live to see my someday

Half A Heartbeat

Written By: Chris Bates

First Verse
The second that I saw your smile I felt you pull me in
When we talked you took me to a place I’d never been
A world where all I wanted was to spend my time with you
Could this be the beginning of a dream that’s coming true?

Chorus
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you
I was broken inside but you made me brand new
Send me over the edge, say you feel that way too
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you

Second Verse
I almost lost the hope there could be one like you somewhere
A woman who could be the answer to my daily prayer
The minute that I wake up I can’t get you off my mind
Are you the one that I have waited my whole life to find

Chorus
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you
I was broken inside but you made me brand new
Send me over the edge, say you feel that way too
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you

Bridge
It’s hopeless to hide my emotions
It’s senseless to sort it all out
Since I met you that day I just can’t turn away
Can this be what they say love’s all about

Chorus
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you
I was broken inside but you made me brand new
Send me over the edge, say you feel that way too
Half a heartbeat away from fallin’ for you

Third Verse
I saw the joy inside your eyes and knew I couldn’t win
You kissed me and I felt I’d never be the same again
We wrapped around each other and we fit so perfectly
There is nowhere else my arms would ever want to be

Chorus

Last Call

Written By: Chris Bates

Last Call – time to close
I know I’m numb down to my toes
I’ll have one more I suppose
Last call – time to close

Last call – bottoms up
Keep the change for the cup
Don’t ask me if I’ve had enough
Last call – bottoms up

Since seven I’ve been sittin’ here
Shootin’ whiskey, sippin’ beer
Wondrin’ who was wrong and who was right
Guess it doesn’t matter now
Unless I get you back somehow
I’ll be here at last call every night

Last call – time to close
How I’ll drive home no one knows
Pour me four roses for the road
Last call - time to close
