I saw a video by a musician name Chris Blake. He created the video by googling the phrase “Biggest Regrets.” A simple concept, but DEEPLY PROFOUND. It’s interesting to see how a simple google search could turn up such deep anguish, poignant comedy, and how we’re all the same, you guys.

Judging from the words being thrown around about this singer, he is gaining fans right and left. He’s appeared on a couple of top radio shows and has been heating up the blogosphere. One comment tossed his way at the L.A. Music Awards was that “Wave” (Cumulonimbus 2008) was very, very good.
He’s pop and alternative, while being somewhat rock, socially conscious rock, that is. “Phantom Love” from this collection is a well-crafted song and is performed admirably by Blake, Dave Chamberlin and Heather Senner (vocals). It’s billed as an “anthem for the dispossessed,” which it is, I guess.
If you want a bit of hip-hop, as in Nelly-style, “Party on the Last Iceberg” will fill the bill. The chorus becomes a bit more melodic than the St. Louis native puts out, especially now. Blake is certainly no rapper, but he does justice to the little bit of hip music on the CD.
His songwriting has found openings in some film/TV outlets and with the University of Southern California. A lot of folks in the southern half of the Golden State have seen Blake at the top clubs.
For true, 21st rock, new listeners might want to go with “How Journey Saved My Life” or maybe “Blow Away.” The latter tune could be an ear-catcher, so to speak.

This amazing video has touched me like nothing I’ve seen in a long while. It’s such a simple concept, but it’s so effective.
The video’s creator was inspired to make this clip when he searched Google for the phrase “biggest regret.” This video shows the search’s results.
You wouldn’t think that slides with text and simple images could be so moving, but they are. Perhaps it’s because by presenting them unadorned by effects, the words are allowed to really shine.
The regrets are sad, funny, emotional, heartfelt, and above all, human. I found so many that I related to, and therein lies this video’s strength. We all lead flawed lives. Watching this just made me feel a little closer to mankind.

What do you regret in life? There are so many things I can think of, and I'm not even old enough to regret a whole bunch of things! On my list would be treating my parents badly (I was young but that's no excuse), tweezing too much of my eyebrows, never having a Mac and not learning to ride/surf when I was younger. One of my former colleagues has a tumblr (I know, almost everyone has one but myself….) that I check out pretty often because she posts funny and cool stuff she finds on the Internet that I always enjoy reeading (check it out here: wellithoughtitwasfunny.tumblr.com). The other day, I was cruising her most recent entries and realized she had posted this pretty cool video that has been circulating the Internet for sometime.

This guy, who actually appears to be a musician, apparently googled (when did google become a verb btw?) the phrase “biggest regret” and put together a video featuring all of the regrets he came across in his search. The video is set to one of his most recent songs and very simply flashes the various regrets people have had. The simplicity makes the video feel a lot more influential and powerful – the words hit a little harder as they are simply flashed across the screen.

I have always found the hidden secrets, confessions and regrets people hide very interesting, which is likely in part a result of my recent growing obsession with the site postsecret (postsecret.blogspot.com). It’s always so interesting to realize that there are so many other people out there just like yourself that share many of the same regrets. It makes us feel some sort of weird connection to the person that shares the same regret we feel, even though we don’t know this person and probably never will. A part of us feels though, like we are connected in some way through the similar feeling of regret….
