"Album review by Terry Parker and Centertainment – Oct 14 2010"

"very palatable mix of electric versus acoustic instruments that sounds very polished"

Highlights include: The title song with Kathy Colpitts and David Slaunwhite on soaring background vocals. The lyrical honesty of the song ‘Madelina’. ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ for it’s raw approach and featuring Terry Hume on Harmonica. Personal Favourite -- ‘You’re Not One Of Us’ featuring Chris Colepaugh on Steel Guitar.

Listening to ‘No Man’s Land’, the debut solo album from Moncton singer/songwriter Chris Boudreau, one feels they are reconnecting with an old friend. That should come as no surprise as Boudreau has been a part of the local music scene in one way or another since the 1970s. Although he has worked in helping create success in others by providing songs or production talent, he kept putting off working on his own project. Then 2 years ago Boudreau felt it was time to stop thinking and start doing.

After months of crafting some of his finest musical creations, he and production partner Todd Geldart went to work in Geldart’s studio in Hillsborough. The result is a collection of 10 radio friendly tracks that are easy to listen to and never boring. The album ‘No Man’s Land’ offers musical peaks and valleys by way of a variety of ballads and rockers that offer a very palatable mix of electric versus acoustic instruments that sounds very polished. Listening to this album with your eyes closed, you can almost put yourself in studio with the musicians. The sound quality is that crisp.

This album is a perfect companion whether cruising down the highway or stuck inside with the housework, also makes for a good primer before a night out.

Bio

Chris Boudreau has grown a dedicated following on the east coast of Canada in a matter of months, which was apparent on his "No Man's Land "CD release tour in October 2010. For many years Chris has honed his live performance, guitar & vocal skills and stage presence techniques. He is a natural!

But before he began his recent journey as a singer/songwriter, he worked for the past 15 years as an arranger/producer/session guitarist. He has worked on such projects as Lost and Profound’s Memory Thief (1994) with producer Richard Bennett (Billy Joel, Steve Earle), as well as producing all three of Todd Geldart’s records (1999-2007) working alongside legendary engineer/producer Jim DeVito (Tom Petty, Don Henley, Creed).

Chris Boudreau's "No Man's Land" CD is a culmination of all of his experience and dedication and he has embarked on living his dream of a solo career. The songs range from simple acoustic folk performances to richly layered pop/rock songs and sometimes this range is exhibited within a single song. The music’s many moods and subtleties are accompanied by lyrics that are heartfelt and examine our inner strengths while calling out social injustices. And affairs of the heart are often front and center.

Bottom line, Chris delivers honest, potent, passionate music. He hits you in the heart like a runaway train.
