The best kept secret in music
Press
Chris began playing the dulcimer early in 2004 and had only been playing for ten months when he finished this his first C.D. It's possible that he stopped practicing long enough to sleep and eat but it's still a mystery to me how someone could get this good in that short of time, Chris sites Larry Conger, and Lee Rowe as his major influances, but I'm guessing hard work , natural ability, and lots of practice are the real secret. It's a no-brainer to predict a great future for Chris. Tunes (All Originals) include "Willow's by the Brandywine", "Appalachian Sunset", "Morris & Mary's Love", and "Chickens in the Barnyard".

Bio
I was introduced to the Mountain Dulcimer by my uncle when I was a teenager, but at the time was not interestesd. Flash Forward to 2004 I was watching a program on our local Educational Channel called Jubalee which shows people playing the mountain dulcimer in the opening credits which sparked my interest. On Feb 27th 2004, I purchased my first Dulcimer and after several festivals, and practice (3-4 hours a day) I produced my first C.D. in only 10 months, and a second C.D. after 14 months of all original Dulcimer Tunes.
My music has been described to me by those who have heard it as "Soothing" or "Relaxing" I use two techniques when I play the Dulcimer, I strum it utilizing the more traditional way of playing the melody string, and by arpeggiating (creating harp like sounds by picking the individual strings ) All my tunes reflect My Family, My Experiances , and just plain fun, I reflect on the days as a child spending time with my grandparents in Salyersville Ky. of Births, of Deaths, of Love, and Joy, things we all reflect on from time to time. Each song I create I have a tale to go along with it which I enjoy sharing during my live performances.
