Bio
ChrisCromp has been musically involved all his life. At the mere age of 5, he was a Beatles cover band using wooden spoons to drum on pots and pans. By fifth grade, Chris had advanced to solo rap artist and, influenced by the likes of Eminem and Snoop Dogg, set out to write a lyrical hit. In high school, his uncle donated a 1960's electric guitar, and this shifted Chris' musical endeavors towards rock and roll, where he proceeded to memorize as many Hendrix songs as possible. It wasn't until he was 16 that he first heard and promptly fell in love with electronic music. Listening to a random group named The Chemical Brothers, Chris felt he had finally found what he'd been looking for and immediately explored every facet of EDM and it's subgenres. Although his search for new and unique music has never really ended, he has moved his priorities toward DJing and producing, which is what he currently does.
Not one to be comfortable with mediocrity, ChrisCromp has experimented with almost every aspect of his musical career. On the DJing front, he has played in a variety of venues, none too big or small, and has played on as many as 4 decks at a time. His experiments with production have seen him incorporate a wide range of styles from jazz and funk to techno and hip-hop. His live show is primarily what he calls "Slowtech", but this genre routinely accommodates any scene, from the intense peak-hour nightclub to relaxing lounge vibes opening for a jam band.
In addition to playing live shows with artists such as Stacey Pullen, Orchard Lounge, 20/20 Soundsystem, Allen Aucoin of the Disco Biscuits, Nosaj Thing and Daedalus, he currently has a weekly radio show on www.deephouselounge.com Sundays from 4-6pm EST.
