Bio

Raised in the Northeastern Oklahoma former mining town of Commerce,, Chris Davis’ musical roots run deep. A grandfather who used to play at house parties and a grandmother who used to fiddle, Chris is continuing the musical tradition and making his own way as an acoustic, alt-country/folk music troubadour.

Based in the Edmond, just north of Oklahoma City, Chris has been performing professionally for the last 10 years. Formerly of The Davis Brothers, he melds a style of music that is a hybrid formed from the Americana, folk, and country-rock traditions. Davis’ concerts feature him on guitar, harmonica, and occasionally mandolin.

A singer-songwriter, Chris melds his own songs about life, love, and everything in between. The emotion in Chris’ performances draws an audience in and his connection with his audience makes both friends and fans out of those in attendance.

Currently working in the studio on a new, solo project, he has enough material that he may end up producing two separate albums. Chris refuses to allow his music to be shoved in a “genre box.”

Chris' love is playing music...PERIOD. Whether it be a major concert or a small coffeehouse, he lives for making music and is always ready to hit the road.

Some of Chris’ influences include: Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Uncle Tupelo, Lucinda Williams, Merle Haggard, Woody Guthrie, Gram Parsons, The Band, Johnny Cash, Drive-By-Truckers, Wyclef Jean, and Emmylou Harris

Chris has performed on the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree in Nashville, TN following the Grand Ole Opry; the Woody Guthrie Free Folk Festival; and Greg Johnson’s Tribute to Woody Guthrie; the Coleman Theatre Beautiful in Miami, OK; Red Rose Coffeehouse in Murfreesboro, TN; the Turkey Creek Festival in Merriam, KS; and Fogartyville Café in Bradenton, FL. He has also performed with Country Music Hall of Famer and music legend Charlie Louvin, George Hamilton IV, Jack Greene, Bill Anderson, Wanda Jackson, and Big Al Downing.
