Biography

Chris Head – Vocals & Guitar
Chris Head can’t remember a time when he wasn’t writing songs, “seems like there’s been songs getting stuck and unstuck in my head forever”. Being raised on a steady diet of country and popular music while growing up in Kentucky, early influences included Hank Williams, Nat King Cole, George Jones, Dean Martin, Buck Owens, and countless other greats of the era. Chris moved to CA. in 1983 to pursue a career in music. He played with various local bands, including BGTT, which played up-and-down CA. After a number of years playing top 40 covers, Chris decided in 2004 to focus on his own songs. For the next three years, Chris wrote extensively, while also fine tuning his singing and playing. In 2007, Chris began advertising for musicians interested in playing original music. The first and only bass player to respond was Kevin Beers. The two musicians immediately clicked and have been playing together ever since, going on to form “TankHalfFull”. Chris has been married to the same beautiful woman (and the inspiration for many of his songs he will tell you...) for 23 years. They have one daughter who is currently attending college in northern CA.

Kevin Beers – Bass
Kevin Beers began his musical career playing trumpet in elementary, middle and high school bands. He took an early interest in jazz music and broadened his musical range by taking up bass guitar when he was 16. He played in various bands both during and after college. After settling down to raise a family, Kevin took a break from the bass and began writing songs on the acoustic guitar. In 2007, Kevin pursued an interest to perform original acoustic music. He became acquainted with Chris Head and together they formed “TankHalfFull”. Kevin’s musical influences include Wilco, Peter Himmelman, Dave Matthews Band & Neil Young.

Bob Willett – Harmonica…. lots of em!
Bob is a veteran of the northern CA. music scene. For 6 years Bob played in the northern CA. based Blues Band “T Lane and the Nitehawks”. The band dissolved late 2008 allowing Bob to branch out and do guest appearances for other bands and to play regular at all the hottest Blues Jam venues in the Bay Area. Bob has been around music all his life. He grew up in SF in the 50-60’s and got to see all the top bands in the history of Rock, Blues and Folk music. He started playing music as a hobby at a young age on a piano, but soon gave that up for an instrument he could always carry with him and play a tune….the harmonica. Since picking that up he has trained and played with the best harpists in the Bay Area. Harp players Lil Walter, Muddy Waters, Mark Hummel, James Cotton, Charlie Musselwhite, Norton Buffalo, Rod Piazza, and Kim Wilson have inspired him. Bob can play all types of music from Folk, Country, Blues and Rock. If he ain’t playin’ music he’s listening to it somewhere around the Bay Area.

Tank Half Full

Tank half full so many miles to go
Line of cars ahead movin too slow
Hit the road, hit the road

Tank half full so many miles to go
White line fever, gotta cast iron soul
Hit the road, hit the road

No time to take it easy, keep your foot on the gas
We might be runnin on fumes, but we was built to pass
8-piston passion run like a dream
We gotta hear that open highway sing

Tank half full so many miles to go
Highway lead anywhere you wanta go
Hit the road, hit the road

Tank half full so many miles to go
See my headlights gainin, watch my taillights go
Hit the road, hit the road

Sweet, sweet octane coursing my veins
Rubber meets road in the passin lane
4-barrel blastin such a beautiful thing
When we hear that open highway sing

Born to the mother of invention and a father of steel
Live for the feel of blacktop under my wheels
Gotta ragin heart, just a beast of an automobile
Can’t help myself for the way I feel, when I hear that highway wail

Tank half full so many miles to go
Gotta fill that need, got doors to blow
Hit the road, hit the road

Tank half full so many miles to
Far as you can see, there’s an open road
Hit that road, hit the road

Like a heavenly union, man and machine
Flesh and chrome become one livin being
Ain’t got much, but we feel like kings
When we hear that open highway sing

Miss Him Tears

Miss Him Tears

VERSE I

You’ve been picking up the pieces
Seems like for most of your life
The way you let him treat you
Girl you know just ain’t right
But you can’t see the truth
Through his words that seem so real
Stay or go you only know the way he makes you feel

CHORUS

So you keep crying those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows
Cryin those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows

VERSE II

Just when you think it’s over
He turns around and walks back into your life
Holds you like he holds you
When he needs to make things right
But the emptiness soon follows
As you feel his touch fade out of sight
Stay or go you never know which tears you’re gonna be cryin

CHORUS

But you’ll be crying those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows
Cryin those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows

CHORUS

Crying those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows
Cryin those with him tears
Or crying those miss him tears
Either way it goes
The hurtin always shows

Doggone Heaven

Written By: Chris Head

Doggone Heaven

Verse I

Well I found myself standin at the pearly gates, said I’m ready for redemption
But brother Peter can’t you wait, see my good friend here's lived a life been steeped in sin
No need to break em, but maybe those rules could bend

Chorus

What about my friend, Lord he’s been a good one
Stood by my side when the women I tried decided it was time to run
Through thick and thin, when things were comin undone
What about my friend, what about my friend

Verse II

Brother Peter said son eternity ain’t no game, if you play with fire bound
to get burned by the flame, but there’s somethin to be said bout a man who would defend
And risk stepping outta Heaven when he could be stepping in

Chorus

Bridge

Stays out late, howls at the moon
Been known to chase a lady or two
Might be a scoundrel but his heart is true
Brother Peter is there nothing I can say or do
Cause in your hands lies his fate
If you could just see fit to wipe clean his slate
Doggone Heaven Brother Peter please, please wait
Walk us up to Heaven through those pearly gates

Chorus Instrumental

Bridge

Chorus

Son your friend, Lord he’s been a good one
Stood by your side when the women you tried decided it was time to run
Through thick and thin, when things were comin undone
What about you friend, your friend is my friend
What about you friend, your friend is my friend

White Lies

Written By: Chris Head

White Lies

White lies, alibis, you’re in too deep before you realize
You’re a train-wreck, a suspect, wheels comin off what did you expect
Lines fade, shades of gray, hard to used to this bed you’ve made
Your first mistake, the clean break’s a jagged edge you just can’t fake

You started a fire you can’t control
From a spark to flame, now the ashes have grown cold
The shadow has been cast
Truth is gainin on you fast

Everything changes when the music fades
The truth and the lie stand there face-to-face
Everything changes when the music fades
Still you dance, still you dance

Hearts yearn, tables turn, what you think you know, what you finally learn
Is your next step, your next breath, they inch you closer to nothing left
Two lives, one lie, hard to make sense but still you try
In your own mind, you find, the right and the wrong are so entwined

All those things that seemed so real
Like a yesterday, just a memory left to feel
The point of turning back has passed
Truth’s the only thing that last

Everything changes when the music fades
The truth and the lie stand there face-to-face
Everything changes when the music fades
Still you dance, still you dance
