Life's A Game

Written By: Chris Kelly

I wish I had a video game that I could use to control my dog.

I’d use it every time we played then I know we’d get along.

I could make him do some tricks he could perform for the other kids.

They’d all wish they could be like me with a dog so cool everyone would come and
See La la la, la la la la la la

Then I’d use that video game to get my brother to clean my room.

Mom would be so happy with me, but I’d never touch a broom.

He wouldn’t really know just why I’d laugh so hard It’d make me cry.

I wouldn’t have to pay a cent. My brother’s time would be all spent for
Free La la la, la la la la la la

I guess I’d take that video game in my bag when I went to school.

And when teacher’s at the front of the class trying to tell us all the rules,

She’d never call on me for questions. My homework would have no inspections.

When she’s talk about two plus two, I’d hit a button and she’d say it’s
Three La la la, la la la la la la

Bridge
But I really wonder if that video game really does exist and
If it does then just who has it and who’d be on top my list?

Just the other day I took out all the garbage for no reason
And I know for certain last night that I ate up all my peas and

Who could be behind it all I want to hide I want to run.
There is only one solution: it has got to be my mom.

I don’t need a video game. I can get along just fine.

I’ll clean my room and hug my dog and do my homework all the time.

Maybe I should try at home to be a good boy on my own.

Mom won’t ever have to buy a video game just to control
Me La la la, la la la la la la

I'm Here And I Care

Written By: Chris Kelly (lyrics Albert Lias)

i’m here and i care never gonna stray
i’m here and i’m yours that’s how it’ll stay
till the very last day you and i can share
i want to know you know i’m here and i care

Chorus
i’m here now it’s always now
i’m here for you all ways for you
i’m here even then let’s let the future in i’m here now

i’m here and i care it’s easy to say
i care about you and in every way
it’s important to me to know you can see
our time in love can be our reality

Chorus
i’m here now it’s always now
i’m here for you all ways for you
i’m here even then let’s let the future in i’m here now

i’m here and i care it’s easy to say
i’m here and i’m yours and in every way
till the very last day you and i can share
our time in love can say i’m here and i care

No Help From The Past

Written By: Chris Kelly (lyrics by Albert Lias)

i’ve been looking for assistance we’re all hoping for a hand

and perhaps only persistence can command the scheme we’ve planned

i’ve been working on the future now i’m waking-up to dream

but the love-words i’ve envisioned are still coming out a scream

Chorus
and i’m getting no help from the past and no aid from the what-once-was

there is no more consolation in the reason than in the “because”

no help from the past what is will not last

the future is not cast but it’s coming up fast

with no help from the past

i’ve been living at a distance we’ve been playing hide-and-hide
it’s been only our insistance that has fueled the flame inside

i’ve been asking for some courage and receiving too much doubt
because the fate of “the late, great” isn’t what i care about

Chorus
and i’m getting no help from the past and no aid from the what-once-was

there is no more consolation in the reason than in the “because”

no help from the past what is will not last

the future is not cast but it’s coming up fast

with no help from the past with no help from the past

with no help from the past with no help from the past

I'm Staying

Written By: Chris Kelly (lyrics by Albert Lias)

Ii could tell by the way she smiled she was a winner
i could tell by her walk that she was no beginner
her body looked like Dolly Parton a little thinner
and as i licked my lips, i thought

Chorus
if that’s for dinner i’m staying
if that’s for breakfast i’m sleeping over
if she’s a sinner i’ll blow her cover
(i’ll go down praying)
if that’s for dinner i’m staying

Interlude

it worries me a bit that it seems so contrived
when she tells me it’s a miracle that she’s survived
but i’m here to give her all the things she’s been deprived of
i’m the man with the meat-order i just arrived and i’m staying

Chorus
if that’s for dinner i’m staying
if that’s for breakfast i’m sleeping over
if she’s a sinner i’ll blow her cover
(i’ll go down praying)
if that’s for dinner i’m staying

The Process

Written By: Chris Kelly

Just because she is here sitting beside me hiding so I can’t see,

What she feels inside it’s hers alone and to me a mystery.

But her smile betrays what I hope to find and receive in time.

Could I even dream that this girl could one day be mine?

Chorus

And on that day I’ll dance and dance.

I’ll make a display, unfurl my wings, make her sing.

Then she’ll see what I have inside, bury my pride and run.

Time alone with her, I’m nervous again and I can’t explain just why,

The butterflies, come up. It’s not like it’s the first time that I’ve tried.

I’ve done my part and seen enough of the world. I like to think I’m whole.

Yet how can this person, next to me, make me feel there’s more.

Chorus

But there is and I want to see how far I can go.

With a friend like her how could I ever go back to what I had before?

So I’ll take my time. No point in rushing what I can’t.

Bridge

But how can I stop the path that leads to sabotage?

How do I fight my urge to dip and dodge? I dip and dodge.

Mirrors in my face. Is that really me or some mirage?

Her smile betrays what I hope to find and receive in time.

Could I even dream that this girl could one day be mine?

Time alone with her, I’m nervous again and I can’t explain just why,

The butterflies, come up. It’s not like it’s the first time that I’ve tried.

Not the first time that I’ve tried
