"For Chris' solo album"

"Chris Keup shows his mastery of lyrical and
sonic elegance on his debut album"
-- The Washington Times

"Idiosyncratic and melancholy, Chris Keup's The
Subject of Some Regret is a memorable and
impressively wide-ranging solo debut. The whispery-
voiced singer-songwriter is clearly influenced by
Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Nick
Drake but is ultimately his own man. He clearly
inspires the backing musicians, who deliver a
dreamy, rich, yet improvised sound that owes as
much to jazz as to pop. The lyrics are
accomplished and somewhat cryptic adding a
mysterious edge to the proceedings."
-- Performing Songwriter

"The new songs reveal why Keup has amassed a
loyal following up and down the east coast."
-- Playback Magazine
“A full blown creative juggernaut.
--The Music Monthly
Subject lies, “somewhere in between the whisky
soaked tales spun by Tom Waits and the smooth
lovers crooning of Chris Isaac...even without the
music the words could stand on their own,
reading like a beat poet’s manifesto.
-- 9X magazine

“With his superb songwriting and distinctive
vocals, Chris Keup has created one of the most
emotionally appealing and elaborately arranged
recordings of our time.
--Subject of Some Regret producer John Alagia
(Dave Matthews, Ben Folds Five, and Vertical
Horizon)
“Keup has a knack for creating intriguing
vignettes full of restless characters, yearning
emotions, evocative imagery, and unresolved
tensions.
--The Washington Post - several publications
