Bio
Chris Mallory and Kara Lonergan have been melting audiences like warm butter Australia-wide since mid 2011. Their music walks the tight rope of simplicity woven into memorable melody and draws on influences from stellar songwriters like Neil Finn, Glen Hansard and Gillian Welch.
Chris and Kara have had a busy two years; falling in love and recording two EPs; For Gregory (2010) and Moth to the Flame (2011). The pair began performing shows between Brisbane and Byron; crafting a unique contemporary folk sound that won them a finalist place in the Byron Bay Blues Festival 2011 Busking Competition.
Inspired by their local success, Mallory and Lonergan bought a van called Reggie and began touring nationally. So far, the travelling duo have performed with noted Aussie songstress Claire Bowditch in Cairns, and played shows at folk festivals and venues in every State and Territory in Australia.
Chris and Kara are currently performing shows at El Questro Wilderness Park as part of a music residency. Stay tuned for their forthcoming national tour to support the release of Mallory’s new record “A Little Place”
