Bio

Chris Martin & The Trouble Shooters were formed at Christmas time 2004, with the simple intention of putting together a set in order to play a boxing day performance for friends and family who were home for the holidays. 4 1/2 years later, the band has developed a strong and loyal following in Eastern Canada with their busy performance schedule, as well as with their debut LP "Down On Agricola Street".

At first, the marriage seemed unlikely- traditional solo acoustic blues singer Chris Martin paired with bassist Stu Hayward, and drummer Rob Fris- who, at the age of 22 were both already becoming veterans of Halifax's hard-rock scene. Gladly, the mix of styles clicked, and the trio began to develop their own brand of hard driving, raw blues and rock n' roll.

In the Fall of 2006 Mike Nahirnak joined the group, rounding out the 4 piece line-up that exists to this day. His scorching lead guitar lines and twangy pedal steel are the perfect compliment to Chris' blues licks and rhythm guitar style. Add in the urgency of Rob and Stu's drums and bass, plus the topical narratives of Chris' lyrics, and there you have it- Cmart & The Trouble Shooters!

In June, 2008 The band independently released "Down On Agricola Street", a full length album produced by Brad Conrad. The recording was named after the bustling Halifax neighborhood where all of the band members live, and includes fan-favorites such as "She's Wild", "No Dice", "Drive 'er Like You Stole 'er" (an instrumental 'car chase' featuring a drum solo that will blow your speakers!!), and the title track that will make you feel like you are there yourself!

In support of this release, They have performed to enthusiastic crowds in Toronto (The Velvet Underground), Montreal (Barfly), Sydney (Maple Leaf Lounge) Truro (Trurock Festival), and Halifax (Seahorse Tavern, Gus' Pub, Tribeca, Minstrel's, Foggy Goggle etc. etc...), and have still found time to lend their talents to charitable events such as "War Child" Canada's "Keep The Beat" (a fundraiser music marathon that raised $6000 at Citadel High School in Halifax!).

In the coming year, Chris Martin & The Trouble Shooters plan to record and release their second full length recording, and are also planning to tour Canada.
