Dreaming in Stereo

Written By: Phil McCarty

When I was young I never noticed
the things I'd lose or stand to gain,
they always felt the same - I didn't see that way.

As I grew older I was shown this, and so much more I often miss the "half full" that I have lost. Why can't we stay that way?

What if we never make it?
What if we never know?
What if we spend our whole lives dreaming to the stereo?
Over time I've learned to doubt
almost everything I've learned
underestimates the chance that
chance is what we're all about.

So now we live our lives around it
"it's so hard", "it makes no sense", "so I'll try this instead", I doubt my life away.

What if we never make it?
What if we never know?
What if we spend our whole lives dreaming to the stereo?
Over time I've learned to doubt
almost everything I've learned
underestimates the chance
that chance is what we're all about...

I won't spend my time,
billing white collar crimes
chasing civil and criminal fees

I can't plead the fifth,
I know why I exist,
I won't practice, when I can just be.

I think we're gonna make it,
I think we've always known,
I think we'll spend our whole time
dreaming through your stereo..
Over time I've learned to trust
almost everything I feel,
as if everything I try will work
if I don't ask "What if...?"

The Next One

Written By: Phil McCarty

She would always complain to me,
"I don't know what you mean,
I don't know what you need."

She says "You never come clean with me,
I tell you everything, please share your world with me."

I've seen a love thing before.
I've seen 'em down on the floor.
I've seen 'em crying for days,
Oh baby you'd be amazed at the things
I have seen said, and done,
to the people we know,
the ones we claim to love.

To me you are the next one, the last one,
just like the last one.
Believe me, so far you're the best one,
so was the last one.

She says "That sort of makes sense to me.
But that was a different thing.
Don't compare her to me.
I know to you I might seem naive,
Just wait in time you'll see,
I'll show you everything."

She would always complain to me.

To me you are the next one, the last one,
just like the last one.
Believe me, so far you're the best one,
so was the last one. The last one.

To me so far you're the best one, the last one.
Just like the last one.
You need to believe you're the best one.
So did the last one. Oh the last one.

And when she outgrew me,
I was the last one to know.
So I promised the next time,
I'd be the first one to go.

To me you are the next one. The last one.
Just like the last one.
Believe me, so far you're the best one.
So was the last one. THe last one.

To me, so far, you're the best one.
The last one. Just like the last one.

You need to believe you're the best one.
So did the last one. Oh the last one.

To me you are the next one..just like the last one.

Agree to Disagree

Written By: Phil McCarty

He stands still by the kitchen door,
he wants to go he's grown so tired of the top ten ways that he's wrong.

She sits down, she eyes the phone.
She's going to call a friend the second he's gone.
She feels far too lost in a place she calls home.

He says "Why don't you ever come around?" and She says "Why don't you ever let it go, before you write this off as something I can do without there's something babe I think you really ought to know, oh..."

Oh babe If I could make it right here, let me know.
If you leave now I might go right out of my mind.
Oh baby maybe we should just agree to disagree.
We've been at this for so long.

He doesn't say a word he just sighs and she says "If you leave I won't cry." and she won't cry, and he won't cry, tonight.

If that's how it goes, then he'll go tonight. If that's how it ends he's probably right to think that it's over, this love thing is overrated, I can't take it.

So Beautiful

Written By: Chris McCarty

Love, sweet love
Oh I need you in my life
Love, sweet love
I want to kiss you
Kiss the night away

You're so beautiful
It's plain to see
You're so beautiful
How did you come to be
So beautiful
Are you listening to me?

You come to me
and I love it
when you walk away
Cause I can see
the shape of your body
when you walk away

You're so beautiful
It's plain to see
You're so beautiful
How did you come to be
So beautiful
Are you listening to me?

I'm so in-love
I'm so in-love
I'm so in-love
with you

You fill me up
You fill me up
You fill me up
is what you do

You're so beautiful

I know I always say
it's love
You know that all I give
is love
all the time

Believe

Written By: Chris McCarty

Everybody wants to live more
buy more
have something that you don't
want to work or
Everybody likes watching tv
is there someone else you'd rather be?
And we eat, drink, smoke, choke, lie, steal, cheat, point
don't want to read something
just want to talk about...
Nothing...
And sometimes it feels like
we hate too often..

But I know..
I know..

Life is full of endless possibilities
Keep your eyes wide open
so you can see
half the world's not what
it appears to be
but you have to believe.
in something

The present is a gift
and yesterday is
history
You can save and save
for tomorrow
but tomorrow's just a
mystery

And we all do the same
never want to take the blame
it's all such a shame
why can't we just change
something...

Like take a little less
give a little more
hate a little less
love a little more
and let's see what happens..

But I know..
I know..

That life is full of endless possibilities
keep your eyes wide open
so we can see
half the world isn't what
it appears to be,
but you

have to believe

Your life is only what
you want it to be
so come on and start working
so the world can see
you have the curage
to follow your dreams
because you know
you know..

That life is full of endless
possibilities

Keep your eyes wide open
so you can see
half the world
is half asleep
it's up to you and me
but you've got to..

Believe
