"THIS CD IS ONE HOT MESS … Official Metal Sludge review: “The Chris Mess EP”"

“Among the brightest new rock hopefuls is Chris Mess, who has a put out a self-titled CD that leans toward 70s-era glam with a hint of British glitter a la The Darkness and early Queen…..the production is absolutely sparkling — include 13-part harmonies on “centerpiece” track “Song For Zed” that recalls the awesome splendor of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” – Gerry Gittleson, METAL SLUDGE, June 2016 - MetalSludge.com

"Eat, Drink and Be Merry... with City Weekly's 2016 alternative holiday playlist."

#3 Bong for Your Mom, Chris Mess. “…now you have an idea what to give the woman who gave you life this year. Not to mention a kick ass new band in your life. Check out the whole EP by these Seattle glam-rockers…fronted by a creative genius who looks like a settled-down Hedwig.” – Randy Harward, CityWeekly.net, Dec. 2016 - City Weekly, Salt Lake City, Utah

"ROCK ‘N’ MAILBAG #4: Chris Mess"

“Overall, the CHRIS MESS EP is hands down one of the better things sent into the ROCK ‘N’ MAILBAG. The original songs show real promise and the band seems adept at blending their influences together.” – DefendingAxlRose.com, Aug. 2016. - DefendingAxlRose.com

"Chris Mess EP reviewed in Seattle Weekly, Jan. 2012"

"Despite the name, this isn't holiday music for dysfunctional families but rather guitar-driven, glammy power pop from a quartet of Seattle scene veterans." - MA'CHELL DUMA LAVASSAR, SEATTLE WEEKLY - Seattle Weekly

Bio

The band that is Chris Mess has a sound rooted in and inspired by original era glam, indie, rock ‘n roll, and power pop aesthetics: A bit of loud Cheap Trick strut, with a smattering of absurdity and vocal craziness a la Queen, The Darkness, Ziggy-era David Bowie, The Sweet—striving to move that needle forward, not back. Chris Mess has received airplay on Seattle indie KEXP 90.3 FM. The latest Chris Mess EP released to music press acclaim, is available in all of the usual places, and is accompanied by fantastically surrealist music videos, including "Song for Zed" inspired by 1974 cult film "Zardoz".
