Living On The Edge

Written By: Chris Milligan

It's 12:00, Friday afternoon
Gotta feeling down deep in my bones
The clocks been winding round and round and round

I got the salty air on the lips of my mouth
Gonna make my way to the sandy south
Been tired and bored and lost but now I'm found

(Bridge)
And I'm thinking bout those clear blue waves
Crystal reflections on my shades
Sun is heating up today...

(Chorus)
I'm riding high, sinking low
Gotta another tequila sippin' slow
Feels good to be back home again

It's 30 miles of paradise
It don't matter where ya stay tonight
Life is better living on the edge... man it’s good to be here again!

From the North woods down to the Emerald coast
The air gets sweeter every mile I go
I’m inching closer to my old surf shack

Got the top rolled down on my old bronco
Riding the wind anywhere I go
This time I ain’t never going back

(Bridge)
Trade my old Schwinn for a 9 foot board
Strap it down on my best friends ford
Emerald seas are calling me back for more…

(Chorus)
I'm riding high, sinking low
Gotta another tequila sippin' slow
Feels good to be back home again

It's 30 miles of paradise
It don't matter where ya stay tonight
Life is better living on the edge... man it’s good to be here again!

(Bridge)
Got the sand tween my toes, salt in my hair
Red Bar’s got some more tunes to share
Think I’ll order one more round of beer…

(Chorus)

Crazy

Written By: Chris Milligan

In the moonlight, in the shadows of my daylight
The smell of spring is coming soon
This old house, full of faded weathered memories
Is washed away by the light of the moon

Out on the back porch with my sweet Elizabeth,
I’ve seen the endless days go passing slowly by
The kids have grown, making memories of their own
And all I’ve left is here by my side

(chorus) Well I’m just a little on this side of crazy
And I’m a little too damn old to be brand new
And my memory may be a little hazy these days,
But I remember being crazy over you

My friend Eddie, we’d play out on the back porch
Pickin’ and singin’ til night rolled on thru
A guitar in my hand, and the sweet sound of the mandolin
Pickin’ to that good ole mountain dew

(chorus) Well I’m just a little on this side of crazy
And I’m a little too damn old to be brand new
And my memory may be a little hazy these days,
But I remember being crazy over you

Now time has faded by just like my fading memory
And I can’t seem to find my point of view
You always thought of me just as a dreamer
Now I’m simply dreaming over you

(chorus)

Train Song

Written By: Chris Milligan

Fog rolled in around 6 am
Slid my hands up her silky skin
Climbed up top to ride her once again

The air was chilled like her steel cold heart
She took me in while her face was dark
I drove her home thru the wages of sin

Midnight til the break of day
I couldn't find a nice thing to say
So I lay there quietly as the moaned and swayed

I can feel the rumble as it builds and churns
Moves faster as her engine burns
Blows her whistle as she breaks into the day

Chorus
Blow.... sweet mama, make that whistle moan
I can hear the sounds of whines
I can feel you in my bones
Blow… sweet mama, roll on down the tracks
Til I miss you once again
Waitin’ til you come back

I was made a man 10 and 6 years old
She held me tight and warm and close
It was the first time I tasted the morning dew

I grew up strong, grew up fast
Took to the road, left my past
That girl she taught me how to shake and move

Now the times been long, lost and lonely
Every town I’m in I can see her roamin’
Every girl I see reminds me of her

Bound by restless wild desire
Of a southern girl & midnight rider
Those old steel rails… for better or for worse

Chorus
