Bio
Chris Mitchell loves to sing and is almost always doing what he loves. Spend more than a few minutes with him and you will be serenaded with verses, choruses, and instrumental breaks real and imagined, sung, hummed, scatted, and tapped. It could be annoying, but he does it well.
The Akron, Ohio native began studying violin and singing in grade school. He wrote his first song in sixth grade. Then followed years of voice lessons, twelve bands, one orchestra, two music schools, and countless nights singing, dancing, producing and entertaining.
In the late 1990’s, Nashville’s party scene flocked to see what Chris would do next in his band The Collection, a spectacle that included hot pants, feather boas, choir robes, and a nonstop funky dance groove. Outrageousness ruled.
Chris has also focused on helping other artists in finding places and venues to play. In 2005 he created “Chris Mitchell Presents” a monthly event that spawned the start of several successful Nashville artists.
His latest release, Sing is a deeply personal journey collection of R&B, pop, and rock songs borne from a broken soul on a journey back into the light and hopefulness of today.
