Biography

Chris Scheurich was born and raised in New Orleans. Chris was surrounded by music from the day he was born. His Father played drums for the New Orleans piano great James Booker. By age eight he completely immersed in blues guitar finding inspiration from legends like Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Snook Eaglin and Earl King played an important role in chris' musical development. Earl king taught Chris with his stories and philosophies on rhythm and blues. Introduced to Snooks Eaglin when he was only ten, Chris was given the opportunity to play beside Snooks and many of New Orleans finest rhythm sections including the late Erving Charles, George Porter Jr.,Jeffery "Jellybean" Alexander and Johnny Vidacovich. Chris Still frequently sits in with Snooks at Mid-City Rock and Bowl. Subdudes guitarist Tommy Malone, introduced Chris to large audiences by featuring him in shows at the New Orleans Jazz and heritage Festival, Birmingham's City Stages, and The House Of Blues. By thirteen Chris had a regular Saturday afternoon gig at Tipitina's. Throught the last few years Chris has continued to study the blues, developing his own unique style blending blues, funk, and New Orleans rhythms. Now at twenty four Chris is immerging on the scene as a young guitarist and vocalist bringing the experience of a veteran artist.
