outgrown

Written By: Chris Stanley

OUTGROWN

Why is it always the bad ones that make us run?
(Running back to you)
It’s been a long while but I’m ok.
(I’m ok with you)

Why is it always the good dreams that wake us up?
(Waking up with you)
Maybe I’m proving myself wrong.
(Anything for you)

I’m ok just as long as you’re in my arms.

So why wake up and act like you don’t know what were going through?
Why pretend to fight for something that we’ve both outgrown?

You kept me waiting for you but that’s ok.
(Killing time for you)
Standing outside in the pouring rain.
(Getting wet with you)

Dodging the aftermath I took too long.
(Took too long to cry)
If I even cried at all.

I’m ok just as long as you’re in my arms.

So why wake up and act like you don’t know what were going through?
Why pretend to fight for something that we’ve both outgrown?

I’m not fighting anymore

changing again

Written By: Chris Stanley

CHANGING AGAIN

I am standing in the shadow of the deep river bed.
Walking on this holy ground, walking off the edge.
Certain I may l loose my life on the road that lies ahead.
There’s nothing like the wind changing again.

I am running in a circle, chasing my tail.
There’s nothing worse than holding on and falling of the earth.
I am certain if we came crawling from the sea that I’m keeping all my secrets.
I’m keeping them for me.

And it takes me back.
(Time and time again)
When you open up,
(In a stranger’s arms)
And it comforts me on the road I go on.

You lift me up.
(And I’m hoping that)
I am strong again.
You lift me up.
Don’t put me down, till I’m strong again.

I dreamt that I was flying, swear to God I’m flying.
It felt so real anyway.
She said “Praise my soul, returning to the earth,” ‘cause it feels so good to be home.
And it goes like this.

And it takes me back.
(Time and time again)
When you open up,
(In a stranger’s arms)
And it comforts me on the road I go on.

You lift me up.
(And I’m hoping that)
I am strong again.
You lift me up.
Don’t put me down, till I’m strong again.
