Chrissy Phillips

Growing up in the small town of Hawley, TX, Chrissy Phillips is no stranger to the red dirt scene. She understands the down-home way of life, and beginning in high school, found her love for Texas Country music. Now 22 years old, that love has never changed. On the contrary, it’s grown immensely. Chrissy was no child prodigy. She didn’t grow up around music, neither of her parents sing or play an instrument, and she only signed up for the occasional school talent show. When she was 16, she bought her own guitar and even still, the rest wasn’t as they say, “history”. Most are surprised to hear that it actually wasn’t until this past February 2014 that she finally entered a singer/songwriter competition on a whim, and discovered that she had a place in Texas Country. From there, not even a year later, she has experienced overwhelming success with her original song “Texas”, and is expecting an album out at the beginning of 2015. The album will include “Texas”, which is now on iTunes, as well as nine more of her originals. 
Various venues in Abilene and surrounding towns have been lucky to showcase Chrissy Phillips and her music, and her fan base is only expanding. When asked what her plans are, she says, “I’m just along for the ride. I’m hoping and praying that this goes somewhere, but until then, I’m going to have a hell of time.” Get ready, Texas. This is only the beginning.
