"HEAR CHRISTIAN KASER’S CATCHY NEW SINGLE, ‘THAT’S WHAT’S UP’"

Loved meeting Christian this past weekend in Ohio at Country Night Lights. Dude can bring it on stage. Get used to the name. -

"LISTEN TO CHRISTIAN KASER’S SINGLE RELEASED YESTERDAY “THAT’S WHAT’S UP”"

Country Night Lights performer Christian Kaser released a brand new track yesterday entitled “That’s What’s Up”. Coming off a spectacular performance the weekend prior in Athens, OH at the first ever country music festival to hit the area, Kaser made many new fans that weekend after the energy he brought to the stage.

On the inside of Christian Kaser’s right arm is a tattoo he got for free. Not because of a dare on a wild night out, but because the image Christian wanted inked into his skin forever was so unique to the tattoo artist, he offered to do it at no cost. And that image, an owl’s head with the body of an octopus, says more about Christian Kaser the man and musician, than any artist bio ever could.

“The owl symbolizes wisdom. And the octopus can do many things at once, touching feeling, surviving, all with grace,” Christian explained. “It’s how I try to live my life each day.”
That unique perspective and courage to be exactly who he wants to be – odd tattoo and all – is a perfect representation of Christian’s life as a musician. With his musical influences ranging from Wilco to Keith Urban to Bob Marley, Kaser offers a fresh new perspective on country, roots and pop music that is a breath of fresh air.

After spending time in the studio in Nashville, Tenn., this summer writing and recording new material, Christian is excited to further develop his identity as a singer/songwriter who writes songs about every day life and emotions that are easily accessible and recognizable to listeners but from his unique perspective and voice.

“I try to connect emotions – the highs, lows and in-betweens,” Christian said. “I’m not abstract. My songs are straightforward and honest.” -

"Rising star: Christian Kaser home"

Sandusky native Christian Kaser hasn't become a big country and western musical star yet.

His music suggests he's getting close, says Anna Givens, the Sandusky jazz singer promoting his local concert.

Givens says she's handpicked all of the artists who appear in her "An American Music Series" concerts at the Sandusky State Theatre, which continue with Kaser's July 11 performance.

“He’s really good. I liked him because he sounded so commercial. A lot of us who do our own music, we don’t sound that commercial," Givens said. "I thought, this kid, he’s really got it. I’m surprised he’s not famous. It's something you'd expect to hear when you turn the radio on.”

Kaser, 34, says he'll be showing off his country-pop sound when he takes the stage at the State Theatre with his seven-piece band. Expect both covers and originals, he said.

Born and raised in Sandusky, Kaser says he was on a more conventional career track as a pre-dental major at Bowling Green State University when he picked up his first guitar at age 22 and was bitten by the musical bug.

He now divides his time between Sandusky and Nashville. His music can be sampled at reverbnation.com/christiankaser. He's active as a Nashville songwriter, co-writing with other musicians. It's possible that if his first big hit doesn't come from his own recordings, it might come from a song written for others, he said.

Kaser has a number of gigs in Put-in-Bay this summer.

He said it took awhile for his parents to accept his new direction in life.

Once, he spoke with his mother on the phone, telling her, "I'm at the American Idol tryouts!"

She replied, "You get back to school right now." -
