Recommended For Eva Cassidy Fans

My only complaint about this cd is there are only 5 songs. These songs are great and the artist has a powerful, emotional, and expressive voice. This cd hasn't left my stereo since I got it. ChristiAna's version of They Called It Stormy Monday is right up there with Eva Cassidy's version. This cd also contains Gladys Knight and The Pips's I've Got To Use My Imagination. This song is one of my favorite oldies and I have always thought someone should remake this song. I'm glad to see someone has. There are also great versions of Misty Blue and Aretha's Do Right woman, Do Right Man, and a great Stevie Wonder song I was unfamiliar with until now. As an Eva Cassidy fan I would recommend this cd to other Eva Cassidy fans. I would also recommend this cd to anyone who loves classic soul and/or blues. I hope to hear more from this artist soon, and I hope her next cd has more of the same kind of songs, and hopefully more than 5 songs next time.

Impressive maturity

Christiana Perez has a voice mature beyond her years. She way she delivers her vocals make one think that she's in her 50's and have seen it all, that's how mature she sounds. This is one of the most impressive voice I have heard in a very long time. The material on this album is very well chosen and Perez put her spin on it, making the songs her own. This is a beautiful blues/soul record. My only regrets are : only 5 songs and a poor booklet where only the guest musicians are mentioned... For the rest, absolutely superb !
