Another 318 Lyricist has created a response to the much-talked about lyrical challenge issued earlier this week by Kendrick Lamar via Big Sean's song, "Control".

CHRISTIAN'DEE provides 318U with the FIRST LISTEN to his new track, "Control: Shreveport #DeathToRatchet", in which he talks about the state of hip hop in the city.

Don't be too quick to judge the title. Even though he seems more aggressive than his usual laid-back vibe, CHRISTIAN'DEE -- who aims to represent another side of Shreveport -- is using his poetic verse (spit over an Ab-Soul instrumental) to speak on what he feels is keeping some local hip hop artists (and the city in general) stagnant. If Snoop Dogg‘s daughter & Andre 3K‘s son got together and had a son – Christian’Dee would be their child. I don’t want to compare but if you watch the visuals for “Nxnchalxnt”, Dee brings that flow & lyricism that would get you sold. The song & Dee, himself, brings a refreshing feelin’ into hip-hop. Potential is truly there for Christian, so no need to worry – he will blow up.

Christian’Dee has a mixtape coming out called “SHVPXRT” which would be out by October.

Every week I try to space out some time to listen to artist’s submissions. Some weeks I can, some weeks I can’t. Didn’t really have much time this week but I’ve been meaning to give this dude a listen since I seen him on TSS. It also didn’t hurt that his approach was commendable and he stayed clear of bombarding me with links. Anyways, the Louisiana native is gearing up to release his SHVPXRT project. Like most genres, a unique voice can take you far in hip-hop. Mostly because certain vocal inflections simply strike your ears immediately, which is exactly what just happened upon watching Christian’Dee’s “Nxnchalxnt” video and hearing the Shreveport native’s unique tone. Well aware of his bearably high-pitched slickness, Dee delves into his motives for rhyming with the delivery of an Olympic gymnast, flipping quick and then slowing down on a dime with ease over his own classy production. For someone you don’t hear from often, he’s quite impressive.
