Christine VanHoy

Christine VanHoy

Singer / Songwriter with storyteller lyrics set to country music influenced by rock, pop and folk. Fun, positive, high energy and a lot of passion for performing with my great band. It's all about the music and the message, sharing it and connecting with as many people as possible.

Christine VanHoy - Singer / Songwriter
Along with having a very full life with a family and career, Christine VanHoy has been entertaining a variety of musical audiences from the east coast to the west coast since her early teens. Christine has been the lead singer and guitarist in an all female rock band, fronted a pop/jazz/rock 10-piece band complete with full percussion and horn sections, been a member and soloist in numerous church choirs, and had a solo career – just the guitar and voice doing country and folk. She has performed in “hot spot” nightclubs from Boston to San Francisco, military bases, large auditoriums and concert halls, town halls and smoky bar rooms. Now Christine has set out to make a lifelong dream come true – to become a recording artist as well as a performer with the Christine VanHoy Band.
“I have learned through my volunteer work with the American Cancer Society/Relay For Life, to live each day to its fullest and I don’t believe in regrets. It’s never too late to go after your dreams." Christine has taken that very much to heart.
And dreams really do come true. Since starting her recording career last year, Christine has had 4 single releases with Indie label Big 7 Records, all of which has charted on New Music Weekly and her 3rd release "I Don't" went all the way to #1. Her current single "Life Is Good" has already climbed to #3 on the New Music Weekly chart in only eight weeks, and to #75 on Music Row - a huge feat for someone who began a recording career just over a year ago.
Then came another goal reached - another dream come true. On November 10, 2007, Christine won Best New Country Artist 2007 at the New Music Weekly Awards in Hollywood CA. She was up against some very stiff big label and indie label competition, so winning was very sweet indeed.
"Music is the universal language. It’s a perfect way to express all emotions through lyrics that send messages and tell stories and through the music itself. Country music has a truth and realism to it that makes it a joy to sing."
The Christine VanHoy Band is getting ready to perform for you, and can't wait to get out there. This songbird is ready to fly. Christine's debut album - Life Is Good - is now available on CD Baby and iTunes. Christine and the band hope you'll all check out the album and come see us play.

Life Is Good

LIFE IS GOOD Christine VanHoy 3/3/07
Jimmy Ashley

1. I’ve seen the better side of 40. Learned a lot along the way.

Like you have to have north to get south, work real hard to enjoy play.

And to make the best of everything, don’t let mad get in your way.

You have to know wrong to be right, have nighttime to get day.

Chorus Life is good. It’s as good as you make it. Life is good.

When you make a little time, make it good.

Give back what you have taken, and be sure, to leave a little sign. Life is good.

2. Teach patience to a little child, say I love you to your friends.

There’s always new beginnings, every time there is an end.

Can’t have a gorgeous sunset, if the sun don’t ever rise.

Can’t know if you’ve been foolish, without ever being wise.

Bridge All we have is just this day. Maybe just this moment in time.

Choose to fill it up with love, and be sure, to leave a little sign.

Instrument Solo

3. I count my blessings not my years, and I always knock on wood.

I have faith all will be fine, and turn out like it should.

I’m thankful for the things I get, cuz you know I love to give.

Can’t choose the way that I will die, I choose how I will live.
