CHRISTOPHER BATTLES, the genuinely soulful acoustic singer/songwriter.

Christopher Battles frames the human experience, each song a snapshot for audiences hearts and minds. Foundations of warm and rhythmic guitar work compliment his profound vocal presence, coloring a massive soundscape that transcends the boundaries containing most singer/songwriters. Audiences are carried away by what has been billed as his minstrel performance.

Long before Miles Upon Miles was a nominee for Best Folk Song in the USA Songwriting Competition and the EP played on Sirius XMs The Village, Christopher earned his musical credentials as a classically trained percussionist. Honored with numerous accolades and scholarships as a jazz, Latin, and classical performer, he graduated Suma Cum Laude from the Crane School of Music. Informed by years of travel, study and practice, Christopher is distinguished and defined onstage with a depth of presence beyond his years.

In 2012 Christopher recorded the Miles Upon Miles EP in Brooklyn; released at The Rockwood Music Hall while living in NYC.

Oh My God a snapshot of relief.
Christopher says Oh My God is about a dramatic moment that puts daily quarrels into prospective. When youve strayed so far from your center that this moment reframes what is important and takes down the small things that divide us. With a strummed guitars relentless driving, Oh My God is a beautiful and intense piece that reveals his dynamic vocals so exemplary. The song is an emotional moment, using tension and release masterfully, narrated by crisp vocals and powerful yet intricate detailing by the guitar.

The calling card of this traveling troubadour, Miles Upon Miles is the account of a bicycle journey across the state of Florida. His trip was meant to get away from it all yet coincided with the 2011 tsunami; heavy news weighing on his mind. The story of his journey against the prevailing winds is told with Christophers ultimate talent: he brings audiences deep into his world, meaningfully and personally - you can feel it deep in your soul.

Footprints the beautiful impermanence of footprints in the snow.
Written while looking out his bedroom window at the snow slowly falling to the ground. Footprints is an homage to our personal journey and the monuments of man, speaking to voices of the past. It is inspired by the famous duet Landslide, and walks with the archetypes we live with in boots that dont fit any other feet. This song is a heavyweight of emotion and thought, carried with soft-spoken lines and gentle finger picking.
