Biography

Born and raised in New York City, Christopher Clark is an accomplished pianist and keyboardist respected for his command, musicality, and versatility. Christopher began his piano studies at the age of eight, continuing on to a B.A., Music degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in 1986. He soon thereafter segued into sideman work where his flexibility in many genres placed him in a variety of musical settings.

Christopher is currently performing with Bernie Williams (N.Y. Yankees) in support of his Latin Grammy nominated album MOVING FORWARD, on which he provided piano and keyboards for six songs, including the title track.

Christopher is also playing on Broadway in the hit shows SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK, MAMMA MIA!, WICKED, and previously in SHREK THE MUSICAL, BOMBAY DREAMS, Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA, MISS SAIGON, and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

Christopher has also appeared as guest keyboardist in drummer/composer Gregg Bendian's MAHAVISHNU PROJECT, a jazz-rock repertory company revisiting the music of John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Christopher was the keyboardist in the last version of bass guitar legend John Entwistle's solo band. In addition, he has backed up a wide diversity of artists including Rick Derringer, Mary Wilson (of the Supremes), Dickey Betts, Michael Bolton, and Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick among others.

Christopher released a self-titled solo album in 2004, his first as a leader,rooted firmly in the jazz-rock tradition (i.e. Tony Williams Lifetime, Chick Corea, Allan Holdsworth, etc.). He is currently working on a follow-up recording.
