Christopher Dellen

Christopher Dellen is a senior Piano Performance major and has been studying at Andrews University since 2001. Born and raised in central Indiana, Christopher loved playing outdoors as a child. As a matter of fact, piano was by no means his favorite activity. He may have been an aspiring pianist since the age of 3; however, his passion for the piano did not fully develop until the age of 13 when he was accepted as a student by Dr. Tamara Orlovsky; a very accomplished Russian pianist. Since then, no one has been able to pull him away from his first true love—his Steinway named Josephine. In his early teen years, he began to realize it was time to become more serious about his God-given talent—the piano. At the age of 16 he performed Liszt Concerto No. 1 and was a finalist in Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra statewide competition for young musicians. The following year he performed Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No. 1 with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and placed third in the Indianapolis Orchestra competition. At the age of 18, Christopher not only recorded his first CD but also became a Chapel Music recording artist. Since then, Christopher has been blessed with various opportunities to travel around the United States and the world with his album entitled “In the Beginning.”
