Chris Gipson used to turn heads at the old Open Mics at Lafayette Brewing Company. With his long hair, long beard and tattoos, he stood alone on the stage like he was sitting in for Jimmy Page at a Led Zepplin concert at Madison Square Garden. His songs were defiant and bold and utilized acoustic and electric guitars as well as a harmonica. More recently, Gipson has penned many original rock songs and acoustic ballads, which make up his debut CD, On & On. He will celebrate the disc with a free concert tonight.
