Biography

The grotesques and horribles that stagger through the songs of Christopher O’Hare on ‘I Hate Me Too’ are not the garden variety ghouls Hollywood scares up for the entertainment of those who need clearly defined villains. Quite the opposite—these are the enemies we rarely see, the ones who hide behind tradition and valor, behind social mores and the illusion known as “the right thing.”

‘I Hate Me Too’ is not for everyone, but the overall feeling of dread and the never-ending rogue’s gallery of oppressive leaders, relationships and feelings, definitely have a target demon-graphic. If you’ve ever been horribly hurt by someone you trusted never to hurt you, if you’ve ever been hit by someone who you couldn’t hit back, or if you’ve ever cried over love gone bad then you’ll understand the music of Christopher O’Hare.

Lyrics

Your Ideal Woman

Written By: Gabrielle DeSavage and Christopher O'Hare

I have died for your sins
Continuously
Throughout the years
Over and over

Constructed from your sexist dreams
Selling beer in a magazine
Sacrificial of knees
It seems as if that's how you'd have me

The sins of man
Like nails through my feet and hands
For you I pose
And for you I bleed

Constructed from your sexist dreams
Selling beer in a magazine
Sacrificial of knees
It seems as if that's how you'd have me

Think about this
Next time you see me on TV
With my legs spread
What if I was your mother, your daughter, your sister, or your girlfriend

Constructed from your sexist dreams
Selling beer in a magazine
Sacrificial of knees
It seems as if that's how you'd have me

TARA

Written By: Christopher O'Hare

TARA
It’s hard for me to hold it in
When I hear you scream from inside
It makes me want to take you, embrace you
Rock you to sleep tonight

It’s hard for me to say the words
To eyes deceitful and tender
It makes me want to kiss you, embrace you
Bring you to remember

Yet I stand empty
Where the others have stood
Reaching for your body
Feeling dirty but good
Knowing that I could have you
But that I never would
My guilty heart cools
A desire that could

Well it’s hard for me to believe it
But I think that I may love you
It makes me want to leave you, not face you
I’m not worthy of you
