"Rawk The Halls With Punk So Jolly"

For those not yet completely numbed by the intravenous drip of holiday mall music, here's something spiked with a little more attitude to make the season go down easier. Christopher Payne-Taylor, acoustic rawk artist, will take the stage with two shows this season:

- Saturday, December 21, 7:30PM, at the Abbey Lounge in Somerville, MA

- Friday, December 29, 8:45PM, at The Q, the newest and artiest coffeehouse in Worcester, MA.

Mix one part dark carnal energy and one part sophisticated intellectualism with two parts brash punk edge and Payne-Taylor brings enough joy to render an audience blueless.

Once upon a time, in another life far, far away, Christopher co-founded first generation punk band, Karyn Satin & the Bedsheets where he played with former members of the Stilettos and Dead Boys in the iconic club scene of CBGB's and Max's Kansas City. Moving to New England, he put down the amp'd-up fuzz to make a noise that lets listeners drink it in slowly enough to hear it when he plays. - Worcester Telegram

"Christopher Payne-Taylor"

Christopher Payne-Taylor, whose acoustic rock has him sounding like Tom Waits on the single "Evangelista," is at the Abbey Lounge tonight. The punk-rocker, who used to play at New York City clubs like CBGB, now plays solo gigs around New England; he also does marketing for GuitarStar, a mobile game similar to Guitar Hero. - Boston Globe

"Wicked Cool Playlist"

Christopher Payne-Taylor is a nu-acoustic rawker with a single wooden six-string and enough dark carnal energy, sophisticated intellectualism and brash punk edge to render an audience blueless. Not your typical dark sider, though, his is a mix of aspiration and attitude that tweaks sense and sensibility with tunes like "Cry Out," an unlikely paean to hope, freedom, and a starkly reverent "Highway of Hometown Heroes."

Co-founder of New York punk band, Karyn Satin & the Bedsheets, he played with former members of the Stilettos and Dead Boys in the iconic club scene of CBGB's and Max's Kansas City before moving to New England several years ago to serve up his own special brand of acoustic garage rock in rock dives and coffeehouses alike.

"Though I play acoustic, my sense and sensibility is rock," Payne-Taylor grins. He is also co-founder of branded entertainment pioneer, AdME (Advertising-driven Mobile Entertainment). AdME's first application, GuitarStar, is now live on the AT&T network and about to launch its first major multi-tiered project with Gibson Guitar, HavocTV and The Presidents of the United States rock band. - Worcester Telegram Entertainment
