Bio

Chris Stapley can remember the moment: it was the 1st time he heard She Loves You by The Beatles, and was blown away by the dynamic intro and smooth harmonies.

Stapley spent his boyhood playing Beatles songs in his basement, his teens and early 20's playing, singing in soul and classic rock bands at high schools and barn parties etc. Music was then put aside for various reasons until his early 40's at which time he played his very FIRST club gig. This led to some years of playing live R&B and classic rock covers.

Recently he decided to give himself completely over to his true passion : he quit his day job to record and release his debut album, which features a blend of music that's americana/pop on the surface, and original at the core. It's Stapleys voice that really draws the listener in. His vocal is truly unique and moves from soft and sweet to powerful and gripping not unlike a Burton Cummings style.

Boyhood friend David Wipper recorded, played on, and helped produce the album that is due for release early December/09. Wipper used to join Stapley in the basement Beatles
"shows", and went on to record and play with Amanda Marshall, Alannah Myles, Dan Hill, and LuLu.

Throughout his career Stapley has played with Wipper, Gary Breit(Bryan Adams), Earl Johnson(Moxy), Jay Spezziale(Sass Jordan), and Robin Boers(Ugly Ducklings). He's performed in Toronto and surrounding areas at The Chick'n Deli, Esplanade Bier Market, St.Louis Bar and Grill, Juke Box Live, and The Harp and Crown among others.

He now plays a solo show(along with the full band show) and just performed in the "Jammin' in the 1000 islands" 1st annual music festival in Ganonoque in October. This past summer, his song I Can Still Remember garnered serious consideration as a finalist out of 6,000 entries for the prestigious UK Songwriting Contest.
