Biography

On a sweltering day, driving on the Los Angeles busy freeway, Christopher Taylor decided he'd had enough. In a flash like an epiphany he realized that is was time to leave the pressures of life and head north to devote himself to music.
Christopher had always been deeply moved by music and had always felt that it was his true calling. A gifted drummer from an early age, he turned his attention from drumming to writing songs on the guitar, helping him to express in words the complexity of his own life-changes. At the same time, however he realized that by leaving his old life behind and beginning a new one, he had started a quest that was as spirutual as it was musical.
"Even though I'd been playing the drums since the age of five, I didn't start singing and playing the guitar until I was twenty-eight. It's something of a late start, but I was determined. There was nothing else I wanted but to express my feelings through songs."
By using music as a means of tapping his deepest dreams and feelings, Christopher was in time led to create an expanding body of work that honestly and openly reflects the changes, the uncertainties, the fears and the monents of inspiration that are universal to all of human nature.
"The music has been my salvation, and the words have provieded the messages I need to hear. I live for the music. It is a gift I was given."
Christopher's music subtly conveys a sense of spirituality and self-inquiry. Strong melodies, solid rhythms and richly textured harmonies make a powerful and fitting backdrop for a lifestyle of self-growth and personal inquiry.
Christopher crafts his music with jewel-like precision, collaborating on production with Organically Grown Music co-founder Johnny Om, and Jack Lee, veteran of the legendary bluegrass super-group, The Earl Scruggs Review, and Tracy Nelson's Mother Earth. Further musical support comes from Richard Hardy (Denver Symphony, Carole King, Dave Matthews Band), M. B. Gordy (The Doobie Brothers, John Tesh, Rita Coolidge) and Onyay Pheori (Shakti Tribe).
"Love's Around the Corner" is a song about determination and human courage, to persist in following your dreams even when feeling your lowest.
"Christopher Taylor creates music that will leave you wanting more. His heartfelt lyrics and memorable songs will please your ears and touch your soul. -Eugene Foley, Foley Entertainment, Inc.
"Christopher Taylor's voice is so beautiful, so deep and passionate, as is his music ... moving every emotion in my sould". April Miranda, Mountain Beat Music, openmindradio.com

LOVE'S AROUND THE CORNER

Written By: Christopher Taylor

Why walk away when you're feeling you're so close?
Why walk away when you are feeling you are low?
Once in a lifetime, and once in a dream
For once in your lifetime believe in your dreams
Love's around the corner
Love's around the corner

Why walk alone when you're feeling you're so close?
Why hide away when you're seeing you will know
Once in a lifetime, and once in a dream
For once in your lifetime believe in your dreams
Love, love's around the corner
Love,“ love's around the corner

Why walk away anymore when love's a round the corner.
Why hide anymore when love's around the corner.

COME TO THE CENTER

Written By: Christopher Taylor

Go, stop, yes, no
Yo, what's up my friend, tell me more

Come to the center of yourself
Then you'll see, then you'll know
Live from the center of your heart
Then you're free, let it show

Live, die, laugh, cry
Yo, what's the rush
Can you play a little more?
North, south, east, west

Come to the center of yourself
Then you'll see, then you'll know
Live from the center of your heart
Then your free, let it show

THE SUN SHINES

Written By: Christopher Taylor & Johnny Om

Die to yourself
And free your soul
Decide for yourself and no one else.

Find a way to honesty
Judge not what you see and let it go.
Speak the words that set you free
That are meant to be yours alone.

The sun shines all the time
No reason or no rhyme
It's only in your mind

Trust in the wind
Found in the sky

ALL OF ME

Written By: Christopher Taylor

I can find my way
I can see today
As I open up my heart with you
You can have all of me for today
You can have all of me
Love me your way

I can listen... and know you
As I open up my eyes with you
You can have all of me for today
I have everything, show me the way
You can have all of me for today
I have everything – love me your way

FATE

Written By: Christopher Taylor & johnny Om

All the fallen angels got together, man,
for a soiree on the promenade.
But who come and crash the party?
No one else but God.

I said hold on, anybody know what time we’re leaving?
Hold on, anybody know what gate?
Hold on, anybody know where I left my suitcase?
Hold on – fate.

All the fallen angels took the elevator
and they asked the elevator man:
“Can you take us back to the top again?”
he said: “You tell me if I can!”

I said hold on, anybody know what time we’re leaving?
Hold on, anybody know what gate?
Hold on, anybody know where I left my suitcase?
Hold on…
Sometimes I wonder if up and down’s confused;
sometimes I run from my own shoes – yes I do
Sometimes I question just what there is to lose;
I realize that it’s way too much and I’m back to see it thru.

anybody know what time we’re leaving?
anybody know what gate?
anybody know where you left your suitcase?
Fate.

All the fallen angels had a meeting, man,
they gonna jam about what to do,
and they come to the same conclusion:
there’s nowhere to be fallin’ to.

I said hold on
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on…

I said hold on, anybody know what time we’re leaving?
Hold on, anybody know what gate?
Hold on, anybody know where I left my suitcase?
Hold on – fate.

MY STATE OF MIND

Written By: Christopher Taylor/Patrick Hurley

Do you ever wish upon a star
And ever wonder who you are?
And life can seem so unkind
Or in a moment, it can shine
Everything changes, it's my state of mind
Everything's movin', I'm just passing
Through time

Let me take you on a ride
Beyond space, beyond your mind
See the wonders, it's your ride, inside

And everytime I feel love
Today I'm finding where it’s from
So every day I'm movin' on
To find my treasures from the sun

(Chorus)

MY SOLUTION

Written By: Christopher Taylor/Johnny Om/Briam Lambert

Underneath your influence, high
I have finally opened my eyes
I have lived through such painful years
And I've shown you some of my tears
My solution, evolution
my solution, evolution

Trying oh so hard to find peace
Trying this and that for relief
Stuck in quicksand means time to believe
Is this the light or is this a dream?
My solution, evolution,
my solution, evolution

Is love what I am waiting for-
what I need to believe in?
I'm not one to say anything,
but I know what I'm feeling.

Has the question knocked at your door?
Is your life beached on rocky shores?
Heaven's way will never deny
if I keep my hands stretched up high.
My solution, evolution, my solution, evolution

COME ALONG

Written By: Christopher Taylor

Walk into the night
See into the day
Help is on the way
Your dreams are here today
Come along...

Fly into the sky
Far beyond your mind
Love is here today
Your dreams, a moment away
Come along...

ELEVATOR MAN

Written By: Christopher Taylor

I need a new set of wheels
to get me back where I belong
A sad heart to heal
So I can see the numbers on the wall

Elevator Man he talks with the crowd
He speaks with a smile, he'll hold your hand
He'll take you anywhere it's up to you
He's here for the ride, there's no surprise

He's been around a million times
And has a number just for you

He's the Elevator Man and he'll take your hand
He's the Elevator Man
And he knows what's good in you

I need to slow down and heal what's inside
That's buggin' me, what I am feeling
So I can see the writing on the wall

Elevator Man he talks with the crowd
He speaks with a smile, he'll hold your hand
He'll take you anywhere it's up to you
He's here for the ride, there's no disguise
He's been around a million times
And he's standing right inside of you
(Chorus)
