I am a songwriter. Some people express themselves in many ways, but if you want to know me, read my songs. I don't do the music end of the deal, just lyrics! The song "My Mind is a Juke Box", the demo and audio are done by Paramount Group in Nashville, TN.

Biography

My father passed away when I was a little girl. Too little, in fact, to even remember much about him. The one thing I do remember, the sound of his music, is a feeling that nothing can replace for me. Music is as much a part of my life as breathing. I long for it the way I long to see my daddy's face again. It is truly the one thing that makes me feel close to him. He lives through my music!

Lyrics

Music is Free

Written By: Christy Price, Gina Triplett, Melissa Bowman, Kasey Bowman, and Donna Bowman

Music is Free
Verse 1:
He was a hard working man
with a guitar in his hand
Just trying to raise his family
but he left us alone
when the lord took him home
in July of '83
You see, music to me isn’t just a melody
Or a chord or a string
Or some simple thing
It’s my heart, it’s my soul, it’s what I love
It’s my dad in me
And it’s in my blood

CHORUS
More than anything in the world
what he gave his little girls
is more valuable than anything could be
of all the lessons he taught
some things may be bought
but music would always be free

Verse 2:
If he would have known
how soon he'd be gone
and how these blue eyes would cry
he would have sang us a song
and told us be strong
as he said his last good-bye

CHORUS
More than anything in the world
what he gave his little girls
is more valuable than anything could be
of all the lessons he taught
some things may be bought
but music would always be free

Verse 3:
And by God's grace we still see his face
even though he's gone
and when we hear that guitar strumming
we will know our daddy's coming
to carry his little girls home

CHORUS
More than anything in the world
what he gave his little girls
is more valuable than anything could be
of all the lessons he taught
some things may be bought
but music would always be free

Music had no cost, then
until the day we lost him
in July of '83

My Mind is a Juke Box

Written By: Christy Price

MY MIND IS A JUKE BOX

Verse 1:

Some people say that they’re amazed
that I can even have a conversation
‘cause every minute of all day long
everything thing they say reminds me of a ….song

CHORUS

My mind is a juke box full of country songs
somebody says the wrong words and it plays all day long
can’t get nothing done and I’m losing sleep
oh, my love for country music is killing me

Verse 2:

Well, I was sitting at work on my morning break
and some guy sat down in front of me
he said if there was one place on this earth
where would you want to be
and Lukenbac Texas started to play
that song gets to me every time
it’s like Waylon, and Willie, and the rest of them boys
were playing it for me L-I-V-E

CHORUS

My mind is a juke box full of country songs
somebody says the wrong words and it plays all day long
can’t get nothing done and I’m losing sleep
oh, my love for country music is killing me

Verse 3:

Well, I Go Back with Kenny,
and on Some Beach with Blake
and I Live Those Songs on a hot summer day,
and I go to extremes
when I hear Gary sing,
he’s an Alright Guy
but look what he does to me

Bridge:

Music is in my heart and soul
I am to honky tonk like rock is to roll
I love the sound and the neon lights
and all my rowdy friends are coming over tonight

CHORUS

Yeah, my mind is a juke box full of country songs
somebody says the wrong words and it plays all day long
can’t get nothing done and I’m losing sleep
oh, my love for country music is killing me

Discography

I haven't had anything published, yet! It is hard for me because I don't write the music, just the lyrics. I did enter the VH1 song of the year contest in August 2005 under my maiden name, Christy Coeburn, and I got into the suggested artist category. I know my lyrics are good, if only they could fall into the right hands.
