I am a very versatile vocalist. I am most comfortable in the soul, jazz & blues genres, but can also perform opera aria, bluegrass/country, pop and other commercial styles. I also have over 50 hours of studio singing experience and 2 years vocal coaching experience.

Biography

Christy Strickland, mezzo-soprano, is a classically trained vocalist. She has four years of experience in private voice study in both classical and commercial performance and over fifteen years of choral experience. She studied voice at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois, taught voice at Dave Simon’s Rock School in Olivette, Missouri and performed for the 2007-2009 season with the Bach Society. During her time in college, Christy gained experience as a choral section leader, often conducting for sectional rehearsals as well as coaching fellow vocal students in preparation for upcoming performances. She has a great deal of experience with live tours, solo, and ensemble performance as well as a strong understanding of ear training and music theory. She also specializes in score and lead sheet music writing using the software program Finale.

Christy Strickland is available for live performance, studio singing, private voice instruction, and lead sheet notation. She enjoys performing in a wide range of musical styles and loves working with musicians of all ages.
